If you are looking for a new gaming chair and are on a tighter budget. ThunderX3 has you covered, with the TX3 SOLO 360 Hybrid Gaming Chair, you get some comforts and features without the fancification. Retailing at around £190, but at the time of writing it was on sale at just under £140. Honestly, on the face of it, it seems like an absolute bargain.

Getting Your Creature Comforts

So just what do you get for your hard-earned cash? Let’s take a look at the design features to see whether you should part with your savings.

Design Features

Firstly, let’s talk about the build process. It was really straight forward, it took me about half an hour and it is more than possible to do on your own. Once it is all put together it is nice and sturdy.

Its very welcoming!

So the chair itself is made with moulded foam that is soft and gentle, especially on your behind. Now I sit in the chair all day through my day job as well as in the evening when gaming or writing these reviews. The steel frame and base gives you a stable foundation and the rotation is nice and smooth. There isn’t the usual creaks or clunks that you get sometimes when sitting on lower quality chairs.

I’ve been using the chair now for almost a week, and it’s been wonderful to sit on. The material is breathable so you don’t get too hot, and non-abrasive on the body. I’ve sat on some chairs where the stitching can sometimes irritate, but not the TX3 Solo. With the car seat style headrest, you can get it in the perfect position to support your head and neck.

There is even a pocket in the back of the chair, allowing you to keep something close to hand. Although i’m not really sure what you would store in here.

Pull The Lever!

As with all gaming chairs, you have a number of elements that you can customise to your comfort. The armrests for example can be rotated a full 360 degrees, they can be extended or retracted as well. Alongside the standard raising and lowering this allows you to get the armrest in the perfect position for your seating position.

ThunderX3, in case you didn’t know.

The TX3 SOLO has a SYNC4 mechanism in the base, allowing for a synchronous tilt function. Now I know you might be wondering what this buzzword means so let me explain. It essentially means that the backrest and the seat base move together when reclining. This allows for better support for your whole body. Being able to lock it at multiple angles means that you can keep the chair fixed. So if you want to recline backwards while listening to music and put your feet up, then go for it.

The seat is a great example of “No Frills”, it’s a great price as well as comfortable and adjustable.

Final Thoughts

ThunderX3 has done it again, and this time on the cheap. My previous chair was another ThunderX3 chair, and this one has usurped it from the office. Make of that what you will.
