“For me, the magic of this sequel is the core combat engine and the seamless multiplayer experience,” said Fitz. “I’m really inspired to push the limits of what is possible in a VR boxing game with the sequel, and I’m glad to have found an amazing and like-minded partner in Halfbrick Studios to make The Thrill of the Fight 2. This is just the start of the development journey— we want to give our fans access to the action right away while they help shape Thrill 2 for its full release,”
Halfbrick Studios CEO Shainiel Deo is a diehard fan of the game, and shared Fitz’s vision for pushing VR boxing forward. “I was blown away with the realism of the original game, and we’ve been honoured to partner with Ian on the sequel. The team has been working hard to reimagine this experience for multiplayer, which we believe takes a great game to a whole new level.”
Beyond the Early Access release, development will continue into 2025. These developments include the addition of competitive dynamically generated AI, additional training modes, and more. Further updates will also be released during early access to add content and refinement to the full immersive experience of the game.
