Pokémon will be celebrating it’s 30th anniversary in January and whilst many of us UK fans are hopeful for a Pokémon Center annoucement, the Pokémon company have thrown a curve ball. Rather than announcing a Pokémon Center pop-up, they’ve instead announced a Pokémon x Natural History Museum pop-up store! Marking the first of its kind with a UK museum, this will no doubt be a must visit for fans.
Off On Another Merch Adventure
Now I can see you wondering why a Pokémon x Natural History Museum collab? What links the two to make this not such a random partnership? Well, the Natural History Museum and Pokémon share an interest in the natural world and its creatures. Especially evolution and environments! For example in the Pokémon world, Pokémon can evolve into many forms which allow them to adapt to environments. Meanwhile, the Natural History Museum’s halls take you on a journey through the evolution and diversity of life on planet earth. Which means these two icons are perfect partners.
In another feel good move, all profits from purchases will go towards the Museum’s charitable mission. This includes the work of 400 scientists conducting research and finding solutions to the planetary emergency. A cause trainers everywhere can truly get behind.

Event Details
So just where will this Pokémon x Natural History Museum pop-up shop event happen? Why the Natural History Museum in London of course. More specifically the Cranbourne Boutique within the museum itself. Running from 26th January until 22nd March 2026 the event will house exclusive merch designed especially for the collaboration. This includes clothing, stationery, accessories, prints, and a brand-new exclusive plush.

Adam Farrar, Director of Commercial and Visitor Experience for the Natural History Museum, said “There is such a wonderful alignment between Pokémon and the Natural History Museum – we’re obviously both big fans of the natural world and its evolution and diversity. We hope this collaboration will spark joy and curiosity in the creatures around us, both in the world of Pokémon and Earth”.
Mathieu Galante, Senior Director of Licensing for Pokémon Europe added, “Design inspiration has been drawn directly from the Natural History Museum’s iconic building and architecture, as well as the beautiful naturalist sketches that fill the Museum’s archives. We are excited to be working with the Natural History Museum to create this fun pop-up store for fans of all ages.”
Entry Limits
To minimise the queues and too much disappointment, this is a ticketed event. But good news they are free and will be available online from 1st October. Now if you’re likely to forget or just want to get ahead of the website traffic, you can sign up to priority list. This will enable you to be among the first to access tickets. Although be quick as this priority list will close at 10am on Monday 29th September! If you’re reading this after that date, you’ll need to bookmark the Pokémon x Natural History Museum Pop-Up Store page and be ready for when tickets go live Wednesday 1st October!
Of course not everyone will be able to attend the pop-up and as fans we all want to get hands on merch of our favourites. Which is why its good news that the Pokémon x Natural History Museum product range will also be available to buy from the online Natural History Museum shop, from January 2026. With a select range of products also available to buy from the Pokémon Center UK Official Online Store.
