Distant Worlds 2 – PC Review

Distant Worlds 2 released on PC on March 10th. This is the second game in the 4x space strategy series by Code Force (Distant Worlds: Universe) with publishing by Slitherine Ltd. (Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, Command). It is only available via Steam for Windows PC. Options as Vast as Space in Distant Worlds 2 The 4x strategy genre has not had a huge role in my time as a gamer. Though my Steam library is full of them with the likes of Stellaris, Endless Legend and Endless Space 2, and Civilization VI and Civilization: Beyond Earth; my cumulative time is probably less than five hours. Distant Worlds 2 stood out to me as an alternative to Stellaris so I thought I would take a look. Have you ever had a similar experience where something you usually don't play catches your eye? Let me know ...

Tour de France 22 – PC Review

It's that time of year again when the world's biggest bike race comes to France, or weirdly this year starts in Denmark, just to confuse you. Once again Nacon and Cyanide Studios have teamed up to release Tour de France 22. If you enjoy this review head over to our website to see all our other game and hardware reviews! Race to the Champs Elysees! Now I admit there is only so much you can do with a sports simulation game, as the actual sport doesn't change that much, it's either race to the finish or score more goals than the other team. However where other sports sims have improved have been the graphics and audio, the last few additions of this game have been a copy and paste job of the previous edition so let's dive into the game to find out if it is or not! Gameplay As you woul...

Barn Finders – PS4 Review

Barn Finders is the latest game from developer & publisher Duality Games (Unholy). It is a first-person Simulation video game set in Ameryka, a fictionalised version of the USA. Travelling all over, the aim is to strike gold in finding various valuable items for clients and hopefully sell the rest for a profit. The title refers to the protagonist's pawn shop and home. The game was made possible after a very successful Kickstarter campaign, making more than double its target. I found Barn Finders to be an interesting blend of games like House Flipper and reality TV like Storage Wars. Already released on PC & VR in 2020, Barn Finders is now available on Playstation, Xbox and Switch consoles. Barn Finders - a diamond in the rough or plain old junk? There is a reason that ente...

Farm Tycoon Switch Review

Developed and published by Sonka Games, based on the original game by Cleversan Games. Released on May 27th 2022 this port to Nintendo Switch will have you ploughing, sowing, fertilising and tending to your animals. Then the rest, all while counting your pennies. So be prepared to break a sweat with this Farm Tycoon Review. Farm Tycoon - Hiring People To Do The Hard Work Due to my current fascination with farming simulation games I was eager to give this a try. My first surprise was to find that it looked real and not at all like the other games I thought were all in the same category. Such as Stardew Valley and Story of Seasons: Pioneers Of Olive Town. Yes, I realised my error but ploughed on regardless. And to be honest, grew quite used to being the one looking from above and giving in...

Cities: VR Review

Cities: Skylines has been around since 2015. It is in effect a highly polished version of Maxis' Sim City. When an opportunity to review Cities: VR by Fast Travel Games presented itself, I couldn't help but raise my hand and take it on. Cities: VR - Building in the Palm of Your Hand! Having been a fan since I was a lad of city builder games and also owning an Oculus Quest 2, would the transition to VR be a satisfying and fun experience? Gameplay To those of you new to the Cities series of games, Cities: VR is a single-player city-building and management game. You get to design your own city from a blank canvas and are in full control from the moment you start building roads and zoning areas to build either residential, commercial or industrial premises.
