Game Over A Musical RPG?? – PC Review

You may be reading the title and wondering just what this is. A Musical RPG, I hear you ask. Why yes, that is indeed the title, Game Over A Musical RPG??. Releasing on 11 April on Steam the game is developed and published by solo dev Jake Houston. This might just become your new favourite rhythm game. That's right, RPG now stands for Rhythm Playing Game! The Rhythm Might Just Get You I considered myself quite a musical person. However, once playing through this, I knew that I might have bitten off more than I could chew. I pressed on and managed to get somewhere. Let's go and check out more of the game. Gameplay Having been developed over a 8 year period, Game Over A Musical RPG?? has a lot of gameplay to it. The first thing that I found incredibly impressive was the use of sound. I kn...

Assassin’s Creed Shadows PC Review

Assassin's Creed Shadows is an Action, Adventure, RPG developed and published by Ubisoft. This game is a part of the Assassin's Creed franchise that's first started way back in 2007. Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC, I got my hands on a PC copy to review. Sneak and make sure to not get caught. But if you do, leave no witnesses! I originally played the first game in the series, yet stopped when I finished Assassin's Creed Revelations. I would have played more, but I just wasn't able to move on after playing three games with Ezio Auditore. No joke, I still say "Requiescat in pace" when I play any game with an assassin in it. Or when I pretend to surprise/kill any of my friends when I sneak up on them. But, let's not get side tracked with memory lane. AC Shadows was met with a lot...

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist Of Memories & The Envisioned Land – PS5 Review

The Atelier series is a long-running Japanese RPG series from developer Gust and publisher Koei Tecmo. With this latest release, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist Of Memories & The Envisioned Land, the series now has 26 main entries, and 17 spin-offs. With such a vast history, it can feel daunting to jump in at the latest point and essentially ignore all the previous games. However, that's exactly what I'm going to do. So, I'll be bringing you a review from the point of view of an Atelier newbie. As a small aside, I do have the Ryza trilogy in my backlog, so hopefully this will give me a flavour of what to expect there. You, Me & Yumia A cold-open gives us a glimpse at a party of characters, riding a large platform upwards. Among the party is main character Yumia Liessfeldt. Suddenly,...

Rise of the Ronin PC Review

Rise of the Ronin is an Action, Adventure, RPG that's developed and published by KOEI TECMO. Creators of the Atelier series, Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden and some other titles I've had years of playing. There was controversy attached to this title, but it's mostly due to Sony not releasing the game in South Korea. There's no official reason provided as to why this was done. But this was only happening for owners of a PS5. With the experience KOEI TECMO has with making a game that has anything to do with ancient Asian history. On top of the combat experience, thanks to the Ninja Gaiden franchise experience. Heck, they even give people who get the game before April 2nd to get some moves and items from Ninja Gaiden. So, if you see this review and want that bonus, do it quickly. Be in th...

Everhood 2 – PC Review

Everhood 2 is an Action, Adventure, RPG that was developed by Foreign Gnomes. This game is the sequel to the previous Everhood. At first, I thought this game was going to almost never reference the previous game, but they do. In a major way that I'm not going to spoil much of what I saw. Yet, I will say this now, that if you have photosensitive epilepsy, you'll have to avoid this game like the plague. In the previous Everhood, Foreign Gnomes had us in the most emotional kung fu grip I have ever been in since Undertale. They started out with us learning how to dodge attacks and survive each encounter passively. Until halfway through when they rip the rug from under you and learn how to do something off script. Once that begins, we're on the emotional rollercoaster until the very end. ...

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – PC Review

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is an Action, Adventure, RPG from the great Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. They have developed the entire Yakuza series which has recently been renamed the Like a Dragon series. Their publisher, SEGA has been by their side since the very beginning and has made this series great. I honestly feel like Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio saw that the pirate genre was slowly sinking into the water and said "hold my grog." No matter where and no matter when, Mad Dog Goro Majima is having chaotic fun again. This series has always been a great time when it comes to it's gameplay, mini-games and mechanics. Getting to go back to the original combat system feels right. And it seems that SEGA learned their lesson about paying for New Game +, since that isn't in this game at all. So, ...

Saintess of the Golden Bow – PC Demo Preview

Saintess of the Golden Bow (SotGB) is the latest and first commercial project from Transparent Games and publisher Error 300. Transparent Games is a Polish studio that has made over a dozen free games since 2021. SotGB is a fantasy romance visual novel where the heroine must navigate the responsibilities of the title role and handle romance involving the eligible bachelors who cross your path. Will Cupid's arrow find its mark in Saintess of the Golden Bow? I went into the demo expecting a period romantic drama and was pleasantly surprised. SotGB delivers a spin on the fantasy genre with its world-building and a likeable protagonist in Celeste. It is still in early development as fundraising for the game will come from the developer's Patreon and upcoming Kickstarter campaign. The demo wi...

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – PS5 Review

The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released back in 2018. With all the time that has passed since then, how has Warhorse Studios expanded on such an iconic game? Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sees us carry on Henry's journey of revenge. But how enjoyable is that journey for the player? Let's take a dive into the 15th Century and find out! Gritty, Gruesome, Glorious With a rich open world, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is one of the most detailed RPG's that I've played. But is it a good follow on from the first, or should it have been left? Gameplay Having sold over 2 million copies in 2 weeks, you may believe that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a perfect game. Well, in my opinion it isn't. Not for me anyway. I've been playing for quite a while and I feel that I've not really scratc...

Ruffy and the Riverside Demo – PC Preview

Ruffy and the Riverside is an Indie Action, Adventure with slight RPG elements. Developed by Zockrates Laboratories UG, with this game being their first step into the industry. Even their publisher Phiphen Games is entering the industry with this banger of a game. If the title didn't let you know that my experience was through a demo of the game. Which I quite enjoyed...even if I beat it all in less than an hour. When I do a full review of the game, I won't be like Ruffy and copy & paste everything here on there....or will I? This is taking changing the environment to a literal sense. Gameplay Ruff and the Riverside has you starting on a falling piece of land with almost no explanation as to why this happened. You're taught the one mechanic you'll be using like crazy is Ruff's Cop...
