Marauders – PC Preview

Under development by Small Impact Games and published by Team17, Marauders is a tactical FPS multiplayer "looter shooter" set in space. Now in early access, Marauders is accessible via Steam. There is no official date yet for when this title will leave early access. Hopefully it doesn't stay in early access for years, which seems to be the latest trend in PC gaming. Small Impact Games? Small Impact Games - aka 'SIG' were unknown to me when I picked up this review, so I did a bit of research... Turns out that SIG have some serious experience in working on AAA titles, though it appears to mainly be third party projects, as I couldn't find an original title. Could Marauders see SIG burst onto the scene? Story Marauders features a pretty unique backstory, which is a welcome addition amongs...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II – PC Review

Another year passes and just like the new moon a new Call of Duty game appears. This time however with the rather confusing title of Modern Warfare II, no not a remake of Modern Warfare 2 from 2009, but a direct sequel to the Modern Warfare reboot of 2019. With a brand new engine from Infinity Ward powering the game there was lots to look forward to, once I had downloaded the required 31.5GB, surprising small for a Call of Duty game! Is this a change that will stay for good or when multiplayer and Warzone 2.0 come along will this file size grow to over 100GB? Who knows! Lets hope not! Anyway enough about file sizes, in this review I will covering just the Campaign element of the game. That is because the lucky souls (that's me!) who pre-ordered/got a review key were able to access th...

Bright Memory: Infinite – PS5 Review

Bright Memory: Infinite is a sci-fi single-player FPS set in 2036 China where you investigate a singularity threatening the world. It was made by indie developer Zeng Xiancheng of FYQD Studio with their first major release and publisher Playism (DEEEER Simulator). Bright Memory was originally released in Steam early access in 2019 as an episodic game. After success on Steam, Xiancheng was inspired to re-release Bright Memory in full rather than in episodes. FYQD Studio has found success, both in Steam early access and being awarded the Unreal Dev Grant from Epic Games. I played the PS5 version of Bright Memory and it is also available now on Windows PC, Switch and Xbox series S&X. We wrote an article on the GameSpot Play For All 2021 gameplay trailer reveal which you read here. ...

Ghostwire: Tokyo Review

Ghostwire: Tokyo is the new action-adventure from Developer Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks Releasing as a 1 year timed exclusive on Playstation 5 and PC. Ghostwire: Tokyo - Hauntingly Beautiful Originally announced at E3 in June 2019, it caught my attention. Now that I've recovered from my reaction to Avengers EndGame, I can move like Doctor Strange! At least, that was my first reaction. It was not until Microsoft acquired Bethesda in September 2021, that Ghostwire: Tokyo was confirmed to be a timed console exclusive expected to arrive in 2022. This is when that reaction to the game was one of intrigue and a desire to get hands-on with it. That time has arrived and I am on the Playstation 5. Gameplay This first-person action-adventure sees you battle agai...

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Review

Developed by Bungie. The Witch Queen is the latest DLC for Destiny 2. Destiny 2 is a mass multiplayer online game with a first-person perspective. The Witch Queen was released on the 22nd of February 2022. It is available on the Xbox One, Series S/X, Playstation 4/5, Google Stadia and PC. So let us get on with this Destiny 2: The Witch Queen review. Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Xbox Series X Review Having been a fan of Destiny since it's vanilla days back in 2014. I have always loved playing both games in the franchise. Even if the game can always be a bit of a hit or miss when it comes to new DLC being released. But just like the first Destiny, it took years for a DLC to be released that changed the whole game for the better. Is The Witch Queen the DLC that makes Destiny 2 worth playin...

The Anacrusis Preview

The Anacrusis is a fresh take on the co-op shooter genre, developed and published by Stray Bombay - a studio formed by ex-Valve and Riot developers. With such an established development team, I was excited to see what The Anacrusis had in store for us. Falling short of the mark? With mixed reviews, I go into this one cautiously optimistic. Is The Anacrusis a diamond in the rough, or does it completely miss the mark? Let's find out. Gameplay The basic principle of The Anacrusis is to survive from point A to point B, finding saferooms along the way. Each episode has it's own objective - although being honest, it's not always clear what that is. The bright pastel colour scheme means every room looks kind of samey, and progression feels more like random luck of stumbling on the right path ...

Nerf Legends Review

Nerf Legends by devs Fun Labs and published by GameMill Entertainment is a first-person shooter, based on the iconic Nerf range of toy weapons. Nerf Legends - It's Nerf Or Nothing! Available across all consoles, was I ready to experience a futuristic Nerf rather than the sting of a foam dart between my eyes? It's time to go to the next level on the PS5! If you enjoy my review, be sure to track us down on social media and give us a follow! Gameplay Having four sons, Nerf has been a pretty big deal when it came to them growing up. I have an armoury of Nerf weapons in the loft at the moment where they have outgrown them however the littlest son is getting to that age where he can have a play soon. With Nerf Legends I really expected an FPS that allows you to safely run and gun your...

Doctor Who – The Edge Of Reality Review

Originally released as a VR title at the end of September, it is now available for consoles. Complete with character likeness and voice from the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) and Current Doctor (Jodie Whittaker). I am playing the PlayStation 4 release on a PlayStation 5 console. A Big Ball Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff Maze Theory is the team behind the popular title Doctor Who The Lonely Assassins that was launched on mobile. Following great reviews, it was brought to PC, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles. The Lonely Assassins received mostly popular reviews. Gameplay You start the game in a laundret...
