Wrath: Aeon of Ruin – PC Review

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is an action retro-shooter developed by KillPixel and released in November 2019 for early access. Its main source of inspiration comes from 90's shooters such as Doom, Quack, Blood and many others. I checked out the game on Steam, but KillPixel does plan to release it on PlayStation, Switch and Xbox. The game is available now on Steam for £20.99 for those looking to play before the full release.   All Will Know My Wrath In Wrath: Aeon Of Ruin, there are little to no clues as to why you're here and what you're doing. Armed with only a sword to begin, slaughter your way through levels, find powerful and unique items and weapons and uncover secrets within the levels. The developers are saving the story for Wrath: Aeon Of Ruin's full release, so no one knows what the stor...

Granblue Fantasy Relink PC Review

Granblue Fantasy Relink is an Action RPG, developed by Cygames. The series has been around since 2014 as a turn-based RPG mobile app. Sadly this mobile game is only available in Japan and still running the last 10 years with new campaigns. They even have crossover characters from Anime and Manga that were popular at those times. Though you can also watch the Granblue Fantasy anime to catch up on the story before going through Relink. Granblue Fantasy takes the luxury of both flying and cruising into one beautiful package. Well, until the sky pirates appear and they shoot anchors at you. Not enough Granblue Fantasy? Well, there is a fighting game that has some very unique mechanics that has you planning out your matches. Now onto the review of the game before I give away too much! Ga...

Unstoppable – PC Review

I checked out Unstoppable, a game created and self-published by Funnylocks Corp. The player will fight through dark offices and fend off against the infected as they try to escape after delivering a suspicious parcel. The game was released on the 11th of this month for Steam with the price of £10.99. Unstoppable's Steam page emphasises realistic combat and unpredictable foes. I don't get paid enough for this! Gameplay In Unstoppable, you'll play as Frederick, a courier tasked with dropping off a bioweapon at a corporate building called Pegasus. Once he finishes the delivery, Fred gets stuck on the upper floors and must fight his way down. The game is played from the top-down perspective, although the game is playable via a controller. I had issues while the keyboard and mouse worked f...

Risk of Rain Returns – PC Review

Getting to revisit the original format of Risk of Rain brings a ting of nostalgia. And the recalibration to my brain that I can move away from the teleporter when starting. It.....it took a while for it to sink in. A little too long and many Huntresses were harmed in the making of this review. Risk of Rain Returns is an Action, Rougelike, Multiplayer game that's developed by Hopoo Games. The original developers of Risk of Rain and Risk of Rain 2. The funny thing I'd like to note for readers is that Risk of Rain Returns was released 10 years ago that day. No kidding, Risk of Rain released on Nov. 8th 2013. I do wonder if they planned for this to happen. Or they had a meeting and realized that their 10th anniversary was coming and went to get us a gift. The fact that no one knew this g...

Tevi – PC Review

Through the adventure going through Tevi, I've experienced some great storytelling and amazing world building. But something got caught in the cogwheel during my playthrough. And it was the time around me that would disappear playing. No regrets.  Tevi is an Action, Adventure Metroidvania with some Bullet Hell splashing on there by a bucket. Developed by CreSpirit who also made a similar game format called Rabi-Rabi that I've had the pleasure of experiencing before. The game first appeared on people's radars at the OTK Games Expo 2023 on June 13th.  They've even hosted a demo event from 7/21 - 8/18 to let people try it before people can wishlist it. As of writing this, they now allow people to demo the game before purchasing. I wish more developers follow CreSpirit's lead and do more...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – PS5 Review

Modern Warfare 3 marks the 20th anniversary of the Call of Duty series, following on from its predecessor Modern Warfare 2. It is the third entry into the rebooted Modern Warfare series, bringing together characters old and new. Whilst Modern Warfare is developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. Treyarch has had its say on the all-new zombies mode. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available now on PS4 & PS5, Xbox S/X and Windows. The return of Vladimir Makarov Like many of us, when MW3 was first announced, I was excited at the prospect of playing MW2 maps again. But, has it met expectations? I'd love to hear your thoughts on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the comments below. Campaign Call of Duty has used Modern Warfare 3 to reignite the Price and Makarov t...

Laika: Aged Through Blood – PC Review

Forget about your Spider-People, Italian plumbers, and various camouflage-clad soldiers because there's a game that may have slipped under your radar this month. Laika: Aged Through Blood, developed by Brainwash Gang and published on PC by Headup Games, was released via Steam on October 19th. Billed as the very first motorvania, an alternative to the Metroidvania genre alluding to the transportation method of main character Laika, it certainly warrants a closer look. Hunting Birds Laika Boss I'm not sure how I didn't have Laika on my list of games to keep an eye on this year, but the trailer sold me on giving it a go when it landed in the TC inbox. The hand-painted art style depicting a bleak, post-apocalyptic old-western-inspired world, being traversed by motorcycle, paired with a beaut...
