Minecraft Cable Guys Review

It was not so long ago we were sharing the news of the EXG Pro officially licensed Minecraft Cable Guys and Cable Guys Holdems! Now I’m back, as promised, with a little review of two of the available products! And what an iconic duo I got sent too. Does it get anymore Minecraft then Creepers and Piglins?

First we mine, then we craft.

Whilst each design is unmistakably Minecraft themed, there is more to these collectibles then just looking good. Designed to securely cradle controllers, smartphones, earbuds etc. they’re ideal for keeping your tech organised. Let’s take a closer look at the two we were sent.

Minecraft Creeper REST

I’ve had my fair share of Cable Guy REST stands. From Pac-Man to Jack Skellington there’s a Cable Guy for every fandom! This Creeper is the perfect addition to any Minecraft fan’s setup. Standing at around 8.5″ tall, this Minecraft Cable Guys REST stand is sturdy and functional. No chance of explosions here! It can be used to hold most smartphones and console controllers. Of course, I had to test this out with both my iPhone 16 Pro Max and very new shiny PS5 DualSense controller. Neither of which are small pieces of tech. I’m very happy to report that both sat comfortably, and I didn’t feel like either was going to fall.

I’d go into depth about what little hidden details are on this stand but honestly you’re better looking at the photos below for that!

Whilst these do retail for around £30 on the EXG website, you can grab them from the Cable Guys Amazon store for £20. Which I think is about what I would want to pay to be honest.

Minecraft Piglin Holdems

Now for a closer look at the Piglin Holdems. If you didn’t know the Holdems are like the REST‘s baby sibling. This small holder is meant for your smaller gadgets, such as earbuds, but can also be used for your phone. And when I say this is a small holder it really is, coming in at about 4″ tall. However unlike the REST it actually comes with a display cut-out and stand. You can use this or not, it’s up to you!

The only thing I feel let’s this down a little is the fact that my Edifier earbuds case just didn’t want to sit properly on the block. No matter how I tried to place them, they were having none of it. I did get them to precariously balance as you can see in a photo below, but honestly, it felt as though they would be better just flat on the shelf. This is more than likely due to the shape of their case, but still something to be aware of. As for my phone, that sat perfectly, although the Piglin did get lost somewhat behind it.

Of the two products from this collection, I do feel the Holdems are better as display figures, with a bonus feature of being able to hold things. Rather than that being their primary function. Now, for £18 on the official Cable Guys Amazon Store I think you can make your peace with that. There are collectables out there that are far pricier. And this does look really good on the shelf or your desk!

Final Thoughts

No sooner was I done taking my review photos than the TC Mini-Crew claimed these for themselves. So if you’re looking for a present for the young Minecraft fans in your life, these could be just the thing! Or for yourself, because I can tell you Thumb Culture Stuart is jealous the Mini Crew got their hands on them first!

I can sum up this review really simply. These Minecraft Cable Guy products do exactly what you want them to. They hold stuff. They also look good doing it.
