IGN FanFest kicked off last week with the ID@Xbox Showcase 2025, and wow — what a showcase it was. Buckle up for the round-up because even though I was trying to be conservative with my highlights, there’s still 8 games below. They range from cosy camping simulators all the way to horror-movie-inspired, action-roguelike romps. I have no idea how the heck I’m going to find time to get to them, but into the backlog they go upon release.
How Am I Supposed To Play All These Awesome Games?!
I’ve put the games in alphabetical order for simplicity. Before we get into it, what were your favourite trailers from the ID@Xbox 2025 Showcase? Shout them out in the comments below.
Blue Prince
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S (Game Pass), PlayStation 5 (PS+ Extra|Premium), PC (Steam)
Release Date: 10th April 2025
I recently covered the Blue Prince console announcement, and now we’ve received a further trailer that expands upon the main narrative thread for the game. You play as Simon P. Jones, who’s recently deceased great uncle, Herbert S. Sinclair, left him a grand estate. However, there’s one condition — Simon must discover the 46th room in a 45 room estate within a timely manner. Each day that passes will see the floor plan of the estate change, and your progress will be determined by the rooms you select and the tools you find. I’m hyped to play this and figure out the mysteries within.
Echo Weaver
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S (Game Pass), PC (Steam)
Release Date: 2025
The next game from The Wild At Heart developer, Moonlight Kids, is time-loop “metroidbrainia”, Echo Weaver. Stuck in a fatal loop, the last Weaver must discover secrets and exploit time to weave a new fate. This is a game in the style of TUNIC, whereby you technically have access to all possible abilities from the start of the game, but don’t know how to use them. As you explore more loops, you’ll uncover these secrets and unlock new ways to progress. Early impressions on Echo Weaver are very positive, and it looks super stylish. Yet another game I can’t wait to get.
Hotel Barcelona
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam)
Release Date: 2025
This 2.5D, psychedelic slasher looks insane. As serial-killer-possessed Janine, you must battle your way through 7 horror-film-inspired levels in an attempt to reach freedom. Hotel Barcelona features multiple game modes that include solo, 3-player online co-op and a PVP game invasion system. The eye-catching visuals and rocking soundtrack make this worth checking out before I’ve even got my hands on the combat system.
The Lonesome Guild
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam)
Release Date: Fall 2025
Despite being set in a lonely world, there’s plenty going on in DON’T NOD‘s new action RPG, The Lonesome Guild. As a creeping, corrupting mist covers the world, you must gather a clan of diverse heroes to fight back. Switch between them in both exploration and combat to make use of their unique abilities, and learn more about their lives and struggles in fireside downtime. With puzzles to solve, relationships to build and battles to overcome, this is shaping up to be another must-try title.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam)
Release Date: 2025
Digital Sun return with a sequel to their 2018 debut, Moonlighter. Moonlighter 2 looks to be more of the same, with the added polish you’d expect from a more mature studio. The pixelated visuals of the origin are replaced with a no-less-charming, detailed cel-shaded style. Alongside the dungeon crawling and shop keeping Moonlighter is known for, you’ll also be responsible for helping fellow townsfolk and merchants improve their offerings.
Outbound
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam)
Release Date: 2026
Outbound started life as a Kickstarter campaign in August 2024, where it scraped past it’s 30k target, earning… 265k!? There sure is a market for cosy gaming experiences the AAA space seems to know nothing about. In Outbound, you can freely travel around a beautiful open-world, setting up camp where ever you choose. Modify your van and create your dream, sustainable-living home. Gameplay elements include crafting, farming, fishing, driving, exploration, and more. You can also play with friends thanks to the 4 player co-op. Oh, and you can own a pet. Utterly charming.
Rockbeasts
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam), Switch
Release Date: 2025
Lichthund appear to be an ambitious and busy Polish indie studio who are currently working on 2 management sim games, Food Truck Empire and Rockbeasts. The latter was shown off in the ID@Xbox 2025 Showcase and sees the player take on the roll of rock band manager in a fictional 90s America. Trying to keep an up-and-coming band in line will prove to be a robust challenge. Can you take them from garage to God-like status? With over 100 characters to influence with your choices, Rockbeasts is touting itself as a sprawling, story-driven narrative adventure. The game is fully voice-acted too, with talent from games such as Alan Wake II, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Metaphor: ReFantazio. See you in the moshpit, shakabra
TANUKI: Pon’s Summer
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S (Game Pass), PC (Steam), Switch
Release Date: Late 2025
An adorable tanuki, Pon, has 1 month to earn money and items in order to restore a shrine in time for the Tanuki Festival. Earn money by delivering mail and packages to 4 towns — inspired by real Japanese locations, Kyoto, Aomori, Sapporo, and Beppu. As you become more familiar with the townsfolk, you’ll be invited to take part in various activities as mini-games. This cute open-world adventure features wonderful anime-inspired cutscenes that I can’t wait to experience. TANUKI: Pon’s Summer looks to be shaping up to be a cosy treat.
Wax Heads
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam)
Release Date: Summer 2026
Wax Heads is a cosy-punk puzzle adventure in which you’ll be managing a struggling record shop. The vibes hit perfectly and immediately in this trailer. I’m particularly taken by art-work, which reminds me vaguely of Scott Pilgrim. This is the debut game from 2-person studio Patattie Games, and it could be a Billboard #1. Alongside the puzzles of matching customers to their perfect record, you’ll also find an uplifting narrative, humorous dialogue, and… Tamagotchis!? I’ll be giving this one a spin as soon as it hits the decks.
Phew…
That’s my highlights from the ID@Xbox Showcase 2025, what were yours? Don’t forget, you can wishlist all of these games on Steam right now, and some even have demos available.
