0 It has been announced that Global Game Jam 2023 will take pace between Jan 30th – Feb 5th 2023.
Jam… of the gaming variety
2023 is the 15th edition of GGJ (Global Game Jam), the worlds largest game creation event. It brings together thousands of game developers from over 100 countries to make thousands of games. These games are made on one specific theme in the span of just 48hrs.
The Global Game Jam mission is simple – to empower individuals worldwide to learn, experiment and create together through the medium of games.
Some notable games from previous years are Surgeon Simulator, Keep Talking & Nobody Explodes and BAFTA award nominee Pentagrab. The list of GGJ titles includes many award winners and titles that have gone on to release on home consoles, Steam and mobile platforms.
GGJ Prep Week
A newly announced addition to the annual tradition for Global Game Jam 2023 is GGJ Prep Week.
GGJ Prep Week will take place in the week prior to the Jam Week. From Jan 23rd-27th the Global Game Jam Twitch and YouTube channels will be host to an entire week of content dedicated to getting you ready for the main event.
Jam site registration is expected to begin in early/mid-October so keep your eyes peeled on the Global Game Jam website and social media should you wish to get involved in or just find out more info on a jam in your area.
The Global Game Jam 2023 theme reveal event will be held on Jan 28th/29th (time zone dependent).
