While September was the month for strategy and sim fans, October 2024 has something for everyone! Game Pass has rolled out the first wave of announcements across various genres, some ready to download now. Cards, kung fu mastery or clandestine spy action: it’s all here.
Here are the four new additions announced for October so far:
Sifu
Genre: Beat ‘Em Up
Longevity: 8 – 20 hours | Achievements: 61
Metacritic: 81 | OpenCritic: Strong
Available: 2nd October (All platforms)
Released: 8th February 2022
Become a kung fu legend Jackie Chan would hesitate to spar with in Sifu, a journey of mastery and revenge. As the child of a murdered sifu (master), you will track down the culprit’s accomplices and their coteries, one battle at a time. Unleash killer combos inspired by Bak Mei and use the environment to give you the upper hand. Visiting shrines will heal you and unlock new skills, and stopping at the Wuguan will let you hone your new moves. Even death is integral – with a magical talisman, you return instantly, aged and with greater power but less health. Will you become a true sifu? Let’s find out!
Mad Streets
Genre: Multiplayer Party
Longevity: 1 – 3 hours | Achievements: 10
Metacritic: 8.3 User Ratings | OpenCritic: 6/10 average

Perhaps you want your beat ‘em ups more party-like and wacky? Mad Streets may be your bag. At Gutsford University, there’s only room for one student to be top dog. Go it alone or challenge your friends in brutal but silly physics-based brawls. Target specific body parts, chain mad combos or let loose your special moves to settle the score. Use your surroundings to your advantage; if it ain’t nailed down, you can throw it! Or just both get stuck on a cactus – anything goes! With different battle modes to try, from tournaments to objective-based challenges, get in touch with your silly side and show ‘em who’s boss!
Inscryption
Genre: Card Battler

A perfect title to kickstart your spooky celebrations this year! Inscryption throws card battling, psychological horror, escape rooms, top-down RPGs and found footage into a blender with twisted glee. Engage in a disturbing tabletop card battler in a dark cabin against a shadowy opponent. By building decks, utilising powerful sigils and earning tokens, you can carve a path to victory. Learn more about your surroundings by solving puzzles around the cabin and obtaining special cards. But beware – too many losses and your death will become a special card all of its own! If luck is your lady tonight, give this macabre medley a try.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Genre: First-Person Shooter
Release Date: 25th October
The highly acclaimed and popular FPS series is back with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, following on from Black Ops Cold War and taking players back to 1991. Or perhaps you’ll go toe to toe against your foes across 16 new multiplayer maps in 6v6 combat or make it personal in 2v2. Zombies more your thing? This co-op mode returns with two brand new maps at launch and a quest which players must complete alone. Duty calls on the 25th, so be ready to throw yourself into FPS espionage!
Great news for Standard Tier players too! Baseball game MLB The Show 24 and adventure/walking simulator Open Roads have also been added to your rosters and are available to download now.
