First released on 12 Jun. 2023 the Edifier W320TN Earbuds may not be a newcomer to the audio scene, but does that mean we should skip them? Read our review to find out!

True Sounds For Everyone

We’ve reviewed many different sets of earbuds over the years, so just what do the W320TN bring to the party?

Design

The design of the W320TN is subtle, coming in either grey or ivory colours, the earbuds are the open-fit design. With an ergonomic fit to be as snug as possible without being uncomfortable for those long sessions. They are designed to have zero pressure giving a low level of fatigue for your ears.

Features

There are many features that the W320TN has under its hood. Firstly, what seems to be a pretty standard feature among the earbuds out these days, and that is the Adaptive Noise Cancellation. Allowing you to be closed off from the outside world, giving you a much more immersive musical experience. You also have an Ambient Sound option where the earbuds will allow a certain amount of outside noise inside.

If you use earbuds for voice calls, then these might be perfect for you. Using 3 different microphones on each earbud, and using onboard systems the W320TN will match the noise level reduction based on the outside noise. This will allow you to have clear calls even in noisy situations. I tested this out in a shared office space and they worked great!

With all earbuds, the biggest worry is the battery life. The W320TN have an incredible 27.5 hours battery life. Bear in mind this is combined, with both charging in the case as well as the earbuds themselves. If you are short on battery but have ten minutes to spare, then you can get an hour’s worth of battery life. It definitely means you shouldn’t run out of battery, or even get the dreaded Low Battery indication.

Sound

I’ve been listening to music every day with the W320TN for the past couple of weeks, and they have impressed me. Whilst they may not have the deepest bass, what they do have is an incredibly dynamic soundscape. Listening to a specific playlist on Spotify designed to push audio hardware to the max, the earbuds show off every piece of the music. If you’ve read any of my other audio tech reviews, you’ll know the exact playlist I’m talking about!

One thing that I always find annoying is when earbuds have touch control. I often end up cancelling out of Teams calls, or skipping music just by adjusting the earbud’s position in my ear. Fear no more, because the W320TN has a pinch control.

Rounding out the biggest features we have the fact that the earbuds are IP54 rated, meaning they are dust and splash-proof. So don’t worry about them getting a little wet, just make sure they don’t get saturated.

You can also unlock more functions using the Edifier Connect App. Allowing you to fine-tune the audio profiles as well as some app-specific sounds that will help you relax. I used these a few times when the outside world just felt too much.

Final Thoughts

The W320TN are a fantastic set of earbuds with great sound reproduction. The only gripe with this set is a gripe I have across the market and that is the price. At around £100 these are slightly out of reach for a general user, which is disappointing as everyone should be able to have access to this sort of sound.

Even with all that said, The Edifier W320TN earbuds receive the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
