Uragun Preview

Uragun is a top-down arcade shooter now available in Early Access on Steam. It is being developed and published by Kool2Play. This is Kool2Play's first title to hit Early Access, with two additional projects currently in the works. Uragun. Like, Literally. Anytime I see screenshots or trailers for top-down shooters I always think about arcade cabinet games. I'm really not sure why, but they just seem to fit well in that type of setting. Uragun is no different. I could imagine playing standing at a cabinet with joystick in my hand, mashing buttons and coughing up quarters-a-plenty. Some other genres fit the bill well too. Which others stand out to you as what could be in a modern arcade setting? Let me know! Gameplay Uragun is a top-down, futuristic action shooter. It also falls und...

B.I.O.T.A Review

Developed by Small Bros and published by Retrovibe. B.I.O.T.A is a 2d Metroidvania action platformer that was released on the 12th of April 2022 for the PC. Let's bring back some good old nostalgia shall we with this B.I.O.T.A review. B.I.O.T.A - These Aliens Won't Even See It Coming When you say 8bit to gamers the first thing that will pop into their mind is Mario, Castlevania, Metroid, Sonic. Every now and then a game will surface that uses the old school 8bit graphics and give that game a modern twist. B.I.O.T.A is one of those titles so strap into for some gaming goodness. Expedition Zero Review

Expedition Zero hit digital shelves at the end of March. This new survival horror game by Enigmatic Machines and publishing by tinyBuild (Hello Neighbor, Graveyard Keeper) will keep you on the edge of your seat. You can find it now on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Yes, I was Afraid in Expedition Zero Over the years I've played only a few survival horror games. Some were more suspenseful than scary. Others, though, were downright terrifying. Like keep your lights on while you sleep scary. In comparison, I would have to say that Expedition Zero falls somewhere in the middle. I felt at times like just the thought of something popping out and scaring me was actually more scary than anything else. But I suppose that is the point. What about you, reader? What horror game in your librar...

Solasta: Lost Valley DLC & Multiplayer First Look

I recently got an early sneak peek at the Solasta: Lost Valley DLC and the upcoming addition of online multiplayer. Tactical Adventures set up the session to show off what they have been working on and it didn't disappoint. I joined Mathieu Girard (CEO & Creative Director), Pierre Worgague (Marketing Director) & Emile Zhang (Community Lead) for an hour-long hands-on experience. I came into the session having played & reviewed the base game last year. Playing the turn-based fantasy RPG again was a pleasant reminder of what I enjoyed about Solasta in the first place. Get ready to roll! Alongside the DLC is the release of the online multiplayer for Solasta. Playing online co-op felt just as good, perhaps even better than similar games e.g. Baldur's Gate 3 & Divinity Original...

Abermore Review

Abermore is a first-person stealth and heist simulator by Four Circle Interactive (10 Second Ninja). With publishing by Fireshrine Games (KeyWe, Mechwarrior 5), Abermore is only available on PC via Steam. There does not appear to be any plans to bring the game to console. Abermore is a Stealthy Bomb For all outward appearances, Abermore looked to be a game I'd greatly enjoy playing. It has sneaking around, robbing the upper class, and fencing the goods you've stolen. But upon playing the game with all those intentions, it is sadly going to be a rough go for most if not all players trying to play at this time. Unlike my usual reviews, this one is going to take a little bit of a different approach so the format may seem a bit off. But please read on for further understanding. Gameplay...
Flynn: Son of Crimson Review

Flynn: Son of Crimson Review

The third project and first major title from California developer Studio Thunderhorse, Flynn: Son of Crimson is a 2D pixel art platformer channelling the vibe of the SNES/Sega Mega Drive era. The project was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter back in 2017 and published by Humble Games. Feel the Power of Crimson! Pixel art platforming has another great to add to its ever-growing library. Flynn: Son of Crimson takes the best elements of late ‘80s/early ‘90s platforming and takes players on a nostalgic yet new adventure. In the fantasy nation of Rosantica, the veil between civilisation and the dark entity known as The Scourge is growing thin. Twisted creatures have begun to break through and spread their malevolence. The only thing standing in its way is young hero Flynn, a boy wit...

No Place Like Home Review

No Place Like Home is a single-player 3rd person PC indie title from devs Chicken Launcher and published by Realms Distribution. With Earth trashed (literally) and humanity moved onto Mars, it is down to you to begin the clean-up operation. No Place Like Home - Tranquil Farming Fun I really wasn't sure what to expect with this survival sim title in all honesty, let's crack on! Be sure to check out my previous Thumb Culture reviews here! Gameplay In a nutshell, No Place Like Home is all about exploration, crafting, cleaning up and tending to the land around you. Playing as Ellen, you have inherited a  farm, or what is left of it, from your grandfather. With piles of trash and muck-like stone columns all around you, you must use your trusty drill and vacuum to demolish and suck up...

The Sims 4: Carnaval Streetwear Kit Review

The Sims 4 recently had a new dlc drop in the form of the Brazillian-inspired Carnaval Streetwear Kit. At £4.99, is this kit a must-have for the hardcore players? Dance Like Nobody's Watching! With the word "Carnaval" playing havoc with my spellchecker as it is Portuguese for "Carnival", let's see what this is all about! Gameplay The Carnaval Streetwear kit has been designed in partnership with Brazilian drag queen and singer-songwriter Pabllo Vittar. Together they have drawn up a wardrobe of clothing and accessories to celebrate the vibrancy of Brazil's iconic Carnaval. With a vivid array of multicoloured neon shirts, tees, crop tops and dresses both for men and women, Pabllo has brought their ideas to life. With a majority of the Sims dlc's, your people can only wear th...
