Tekken 8 – PC Review

Tekken 8 is a 3-D Fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco. First released in 1994, this franchise has been going for almost 30 years. It's available on PC, Xbox series X/S, and PS5 with crossplay and rollback netcode.  There was some controversy over adding more accessibility for both colorblind and disabled players. Due to the fact that the game would cause players to have migraines and vertigo. Ian Hamilton discovered this issue during the demo of the game and voiced their concern about this issue. After some back and forth from the community, Bandai Namco did update their options to accommodate all players in the release of the game.  Will you become the next King of Iron Fist Tournament Champion or become a rocket powered salmon! That also have heat seeking? Ok! Who i...

Home Safety Hotline – PC Review

Home Safety Hotline is an immersive analog horror experience where players must take calls with problems anywhere from mundane everyday household issues like black mold, all the way to the unimaginable horrors that lurk, and everything in between. Computer says no Home Safety Hotline from Developer Night Signal Entertainment, released on January 16th, 2024, after a demo period during the Steam Next Fest 2023, and is available now on Steam. Story & Gameplay The gameplay loop here is simple, as such story and gameplay will be bundled into one. Most of the enjoyment of Home Safety Hotline comes from the creatures, their designs, and their description, so I’ll keep spoilers to the early game. Players take the role of an unnamed character who, congratulations! has just been ac...

Offroad Truck Simulator: Heavy Duty Challenge PC Review

Offroad Truck Simulator: Heavy Duty Challenge (formerly Heavy Duty Challenge) is a simulation game with - you guessed it - heavy-duty trucks. It was developed by Nano Games (Zamb!, Cityconomy, Reef Shot) and published by simulation giant Aerosoft. It is available now on Steam, PS5, and Xbox series X|S. Take your heavy truck on the road, or off, or complete a variety of challenging courses. Shifting is Important in Heavy Duty Challenge Simulation games seem to come in all shapes and sizes. Basically, think about any job or vehicle and there's probably some simulation game out there for it. If there isn't, then what are you waiting for? Go make it! Anyhow, I hadn't really thought of there being a competitive component to driving a heavy truck until I heard about Heavy Duty Challenge. In hi...

Unstoppable – PC Review

I checked out Unstoppable, a game created and self-published by Funnylocks Corp. The player will fight through dark offices and fend off against the infected as they try to escape after delivering a suspicious parcel. The game was released on the 11th of this month for Steam with the price of £10.99. Unstoppable's Steam page emphasises realistic combat and unpredictable foes. I don't get paid enough for this! Gameplay In Unstoppable, you'll play as Frederick, a courier tasked with dropping off a bioweapon at a corporate building called Pegasus. Once he finishes the delivery, Fred gets stuck on the upper floors and must fight his way down. The game is played from the top-down perspective, although the game is playable via a controller. I had issues while the keyboard and mouse worked f...

Risk of Rain Returns – PC Review

Getting to revisit the original format of Risk of Rain brings a ting of nostalgia. And the recalibration to my brain that I can move away from the teleporter when starting. It.....it took a while for it to sink in. A little too long and many Huntresses were harmed in the making of this review. Risk of Rain Returns is an Action, Rougelike, Multiplayer game that's developed by Hopoo Games. The original developers of Risk of Rain and Risk of Rain 2. The funny thing I'd like to note for readers is that Risk of Rain Returns was released 10 years ago that day. No kidding, Risk of Rain released on Nov. 8th 2013. I do wonder if they planned for this to happen. Or they had a meeting and realized that their 10th anniversary was coming and went to get us a gift. The fact that no one knew this g...

Tevi – PC Review

Through the adventure going through Tevi, I've experienced some great storytelling and amazing world building. But something got caught in the cogwheel during my playthrough. And it was the time around me that would disappear playing. No regrets.  Tevi is an Action, Adventure Metroidvania with some Bullet Hell splashing on there by a bucket. Developed by CreSpirit who also made a similar game format called Rabi-Rabi that I've had the pleasure of experiencing before. The game first appeared on people's radars at the OTK Games Expo 2023 on June 13th.  They've even hosted a demo event from 7/21 - 8/18 to let people try it before people can wishlist it. As of writing this, they now allow people to demo the game before purchasing. I wish more developers follow CreSpirit's lead and do more...
