Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Preview

Ever fancied being the next Jake Peralta shouting "Nine-Nine!" or perhaps you want people to "Respect my authoritah!"?  Well, you are in luck as thanks to developers Aesir Interactive you can now have that experience with the all-new Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. Yippee Ki Yay Mother Buckets! Out now in Early Access on Steam, come and join me as a play in the day in the lift of a patrol officer in the fictional American city of Brighton! Gameplay My very first impression of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers was that this could be a very mundane sim and get boring very quickly.  Let's face it, nobody likes people that give out parking tickets and that's where we begin! Selecting from eight female and male officers you begin by picking out the character that you want to use f...

The Hand of Merlin Preview

Knights, archers and wizards circle around for I, Jas of House Thumb Culture, have been recently spending my time on turn-based rogue-lite RPG The Hand of Merlin.  Currently available on Steam in early access, The Hand of Merlin is developed by Croatian-based Room-C Games and Croteam.  Although loosely based around the Arthurian legend, this is certainly a game with a slight twist! The Hand of Merlin - Arise and arise a lot more! Can you make the treacherous journey with the holy grail or will you be killed by the local yobs or alien monsters?  Yes, you heard me correctly!  Game on! Gameplay When I first had the opportunity to review The Hand of Merlin, the first thought that I had was of commanding a gallant King Arthur and his comrades X-com style across an olde world land.  Litt...

In Retrospect Preview – Where Will Your Life Take You?

In Retrospect by devs Paper Salamander Games is a side-scrolling 16-bit inspired music action platform game that uses your life to create the levels.  Currently, in demo form over on Steam, this is certainly not the usual run-of-the-mill get from start to finish game that I was expecting. In Retrospect delves deep into your soul! If you have had a chance to play the demo, let us know what you think in the comments section below! Gameplay At the start of In Retrospect you wake up in a heavenly looking place whereby you are asked and reassured by another character, named Dee, as to how you are.  What ensues is a number of fairly easy levels as you learn the basic controls of the game.  Your character is continually moving forward, leaving you to time jumps and glides in order to avoi...

Psyonix & Automobili Lamborghini Announce Rocket League ® Collab

Being someone that is still finding their feet with flying the little rocket-propelled cars, at least I can soon do it in style thanks to the latest Psyonic - Lamborghini collaboration in Rocket League! For anyone that has never heard of Rocket League, a) where have you been? and b) do you not game? Rocket League has been a winner or nominee of more than 150 "Game of the Year" awards and features predominately a game of football (soccer to our overseas friends).  Using rocket-powered cars to hit the ball into the opponents net you win the game by having the most goals when the timer runs out. Rocket League is a massive hit in my household thanks to local co-op play as well as online cross-platform play which seems to work seamlessly. Check out some of the screenshots below: ...

Tennis World Tour 2 Complete Edition Review – What The Deuce!

Following on from the release on PS4 last year of Tennis World Tour 2 by Big Ant Studios, there is now an enhanced next-gen version available.  I have taken a look at it on the PS5 to see if I could spot the differences between the two. Rather than regurgitate what has already been said in Brian's previous article, which can be read here, I shall be focussing on the main differences and whether it is significant enough to change our Thumb Culture award. Tennis World Tour 2 - Next Gen But Feeling At Deuce? Are your strawberries and cream ready? let's do this!  Remember to click the images in the galleries to enlarge them. Cartel Tycoon Review – Every Day I’m Smugglin’

There seems to be a tycoon game for everything nowadays from managing lemonade stands to zoos, however, there seemed something appealing to me about business sim Cartel Tycoon by devs Moon Moose.  Published by TinyBuild and currently in early access, perhaps it's the intrigue behind the cartels in Breaking Bad or even taking down the Santa Blanca in Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Cartel Tycoon, the best illegal fun you can have legally? Time to put on my fake moustache, don my "El Chapo" hat and build my empire!  If you have taken on the might of Cartel Tycoon, leave us your thoughts in the comments! Gameplay Set in 80s Latin America, Cartel Tycoon is centred around the era when cocaine became a money-making commodity in the US.  With each cartel came a huge number of industries to launde...
