Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – PC Review

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the latest offering from game developers Fatshark released on 30th November 2022. The devs have had success previously with best-selling and award-winning Vermintide. Here however you are flung into a dystopian world full of corruption and war. The game sees you take the role of a repurposed prison escapee thrown into serving the army, who are fighting off a heretical cult known as the Admonition. STOP.....HAMMER TIME! Warhammer 40,000: Darktide's main feature is teaming up with others to work together in a multiplayer co-op style of gameplay. I find myself gravitating towards this style of gameplay. I love where games feature a more co-op style of gameplay as opposed to the PVP games such as Warzone. Do you enjoy co-op games like this? If so, leave a commen...

ADATA Elite SE880 External SSD Review

ADATA have been providing the PC market with components for quite some time now. However, recently they have been breaking into the console market. With the release of the ADATA Legend 960 and now the ADATA Elite SE880 External SSD. Their product line-up for console gamers is getting stronger and stronger. ULTRA-FAST When the next-gen consoles were released, both internal and external storage became a talking point. For the first time, I will be putting an external SSD to the test. Keep reading to find out how I get on. Design I am not going to lie, when I first opened the packaging I wasn't quite ready for the size of the ADATA Elite SE880 External SSD. With it packing a punch, I thought it would be the size of the picture on the box (at minimum). However, with its compact size, it is...

Kolink Umbra EX180 ARGB CPU Cooler Review

Kolink, a brand known for its hardware have released a new CPU Cooler, the Kolink Umbra EX180 ARGB CPU Cooler. Currently available from OverclockersUK and priced at £32.99 (At the time of writing). Chilling Out With Kolink I had seen this cooler mentioned in a couple of videos when I was looking into CPU cooling. In particular, I was looking for cooling solutions that do not cost an arm and a leg, but do provide the performance required for long gaming sessions. The team over at Kolink kindly hooked us up with one to take for a spin. Design The Kolink Umbra EX180 comes in two different editions. There is the Black edition and the one we are checking out in this article, The ARGB Edition. When it comes to the differences between the two, it is solely down to the fan included. In the Bla...

ForeVR Pool – Meta Quest 2 Review

There was nothing more that I liked in my youth than hustling drunken students out of their grant money in dark and smoky student unions. You can imagine my delight when ForeVR Pool landed on my doorstep to review. Thank you ForeVR for giving me a chance to relive my youth. Time to polish my stick and play with some balls. ForeVR Pool, is it forever, or is it balls? Gameplay Everyone knows how to play pool right? Get the stick and swing it at the table and see what happens? OK, it's not quite like that, but remember I used to hustle. The aim of the game is to sink your coloured balls and then the black 8 ball. You are only allowed to hit the white cue ball with the cue, or the game would be no challenge at all. ForeVR Pool starts the way all games should, with a simple tutorial t...

Sword and Fairy: Together Forever – PS5 Review

You can be forgiven for having never heard of this franchise, but Sword and Fairy: Together Forever is actually the seventh entry in a series that has been around since 1995. Prior to its predecessor being released in 2015, this series of Chinese RPGs had not been released outside of China or Taiwan. Sword and Fairy: Together Forever - Symbiotic and Scrumptious Although Sword and Fairy: Together Forever follows from the previous game, it does well to stand on its own in a world awash with western and Japanese RPGs. The game was developed by Softstar and brought to the western world by EastAsiaSoft and hit the PlayStation 4 and 5 on August 4th, 2022 via digital download. However, for those more of the physical nature, a Premium Collector's Edition is slated to release early next year. Thi...

Cats and the Other Lives – PC Review

The overwhelming success of Stray back in July showed that the gaming world is hungry for more feline-centric adventures. Turkish studio Cultic Games’ latest release is one to further whet the appetite by bringing a more mature cat adventure to the realm of pixels. Part point-and-click adventure, part interactive fiction, Cats and the Other Lives is a 2D pixel art experience that tells the story of a fractured family through the eyes of a stalwart family companion. And good news for Steam Deck owners: this title is fully compatible and can be played on the go! When eccentric patriarch Bernard Mason dies, the estranged Mason family are brought back to their childhood home once more. As beloved pet cat Aspen, players uncover painful truths, suppressed memories and desiccated aspirations t...

Death Squared – Switch Review

Developed by SMG Studio, Death Squared is a fun multiplayer puzzle game that puts up to 4 players in control of cute robotic cubes to solve individual test rooms. Published in 2017, this game came to my attention when I was looking for a cooperative game to enjoy with my wife. After many hours of joyful and successful puzzle completions – and possibly some accidental and vengeful friendly fire – I am happy to be able to review my ongoing experience. While I am playing it on the Switch, Death Squared is also available on Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android. Death Squared - Try Not to Die! Death Squared presents players with individual puzzle levels, reminiscent of Portal testing rooms, where players have to cooperate and coordinate their cube-shaped robots (often with chicken ...
