Nickelodeon Kart Racers – Blundering Barnacles

Nickelodeon Kart Racers has been brought to us by the developers Bamtang Games and publishers Maximum Games. Nickelodeon Kart Racers is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Today I'm going to give you the ins and outs from the PlayStation version. Gameplay Nickelodeon Kart Racers is firmly aimed at the younger gamer. For this I have incorporated the assistance of my niece and nephew, as I feel their opinion on this game is far more relevant than that of a middle-aged man. The gameplay for Nickelodeon Kart Racers is easily described as a kart racer just like Mario Kart or Sonic All Stars. Personally i think they offer a far more polished experience and are aimed for gamers of all ages. Nickelodeon Kart Racers however will have very little appeal to...

The Shapeshifting Detective Review – Crime Thriller With A Twist

I knew nothing about The Shapeshifting Detective before I played it. I was expecting a game where you explore your environment, find clues and interact with NPC’s. It's not often that a game gives you a new experience. An unusual style of gameplay and a genuinely new experience. But after 4 hours of gameplay I had to sit back and recognise that, for me at least, this was something I had never encountered before. I knew I was well out of my comfort zone in gaming when I found myself trying to seduce my landlady’s secret lover to get him to confess to murdering someone else. A position I rarely find myself in. The Shapeshifting Detective from Wales Interactive is a mash up of a videogame, adventure book (you know the ones where you decide which page to turn to), and a 1950’s radio dram...

Strange Brigade: The Thrice Damned DLC Review – Continuing The Chaos

As you may know, I absolutely loved the Strange Brigade main game, check out the review here. So it was only natural that the latest DLC The Thrice Damned would be right up my street? Right? Lets take a look. Whats New So essentially we join up with the Strange Brigade in The Thrice Damned, a separate story to the main game that thankfully doesnt give you any spoilers as to what happens during your main jaunt into the unknown. Having played through the first two episodes of the The Thrice Damned, Isle Of The Dead and Sunken Kingdom, before we get to the end I thought it was best that I get my thoughts on paper before the third instalment is released this month. So what does The Thrice Damned bring to the party...well a couple of new characters, Tessie Caldwell and Hachiro Shimuz...

Call of Cthulhu Review – Afraid of the Light

Cyanide Studios brings us Call of Cthulhu, a new version based on the classic role playing game based on the works of H.P.Lovecraft. Where would we be if we didn't have things to base new stuff on? Time to set everything up and play with the lights on, definitely hoping that the atmosphere is good. Just need to pop into my time machine. Gameplay Call of Cthulhu is set in 1924 when everything is a bit more basic. No advanced technology to get to grips with, just an old lighter to help you see. There is a mystery to be solved, and you are just the man for the job. Well being a private investigator it would fall easily within your remit. You start in your office looking around. It seems you are not a very good detective really and about to lose your funding. If only a big case would com...

GRIP: Combat Racing Review – Too Fast…TOO Fast!

Before I start going into the review for GRIP: Combat Racing, I just want to leave a gif showing how it makes you feel. Now onto the review. Gameplay In simplistic terms, GRIP: Combat Racing is a track racer, with a splattering of arena combat thrown in for good measure. Loading up the game you are greeted with the main menu, where you can get access to the campaign, single player, online and split screen elements of the game as well as the garage where you can customise your cars with decals and new colourings. Diving into the campaign, you essentially go through tiers of events designed to ease you into the game as well as challenge your skills as a racer. The further up the tier tree you get the faster and more difficult the game becomes, starting with a nice gentle pace, ev...

Castlevania Requiem PS4 Review – A Classic risen from the Dead?

Ever since I first played Castlevania Symphony of the Night back in 1997 I was hooked. I enjoyed it so much that I went back and played previous Castlevania titles on older consoles as well to make sure I hadn’t missed out on something iconic. So, it comes as no surprise when I first heard that Konami were releasing Castlevania Requiem on the PS4 and that it was going to contain ‘remastered’ versions of both Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood, I was dying to 'sink my teeth' into to it (excuse the pun). I will say that I have tried to stay away from any news of this title prior to reviewing, as I wanted to experience it completely for myself. So just bare this in mind if you read something below that has been announced previously. The only question left to ask is; what does...
