Here at Thumb Culture we absolutely love products that are budget-friendly as well as functional. That is exactly what the Streamplify products aim to achieve. Achieve they do!

Keep it Streamplify

Have you checked out the Steamplify range? If so what’s your favourite? Don’t forget to let us know at the bottom of the review.

Streamplify have recently released a few new products, and they reached out and asked if we wanted to check them out. Obviously being the intrepid reporters that we are, we wanted to see whether these products were up to Streamplify code. Now if you weren’t aware who Streamplify were, they are part of the Pro Gamers Group. Their brands include noblechairs, Ducky and Nitro Concepts to name a few. The Streamplify brand came about from a mission to inspire young individuals on a tight budget to share their interests with the world. Enabling people who might not have the funds for the more popular brands to still get up and running with quality yet affordable equipment. We are a big fan of Streamplify here and have covered a few of their other products in the past.

So what did they send us this time? Well in the nice package was the CAM PRO 4K, The MIC PRO USB and the CAPTURE 4K. Below I’ll talk about each individually and give its plus points and whether there are any negatives for each of the products.

CAPTURE 4K

Gotcha!

Coming in at a modest £109.99 on the Overclockers website. The CAPTURE 4K aims to deliver incredible quality for a capture card. Whether you are connecting your Nintendo Switch or a PlayStation 5 this one has you covered.

The highlights of the CAPTURE 4K are the 4K passthrough at 60Hz and the ability to record footage at 4K 30Hz. Obviously there is a whole list of other resolutions that can be recorded. Not only do you have a 4K passthrough, but it can also passthrough features such as High Dynamic Range and Variable Refresh Rate. Meaning the CAPTURE 4K is a powerhouse of a capture card.

Underneath the plastic hood of this capture card, there is a lot of great tech going on. Running a PCM2.0 capture format for its audio with a high sampling rate of 48kHz. This means your audio is recorded or streamed in incredible quality. Add to that a low latency of 100ms to ensure the best sync between your on-screen action and the sounds being transferred. Ensuring your streams, or recordings are the highest quality they can be.

Using the capture card with OBS was a doddle, you simply plug in your HDMI cables into the relevant ports. Both are labelled in and out, then plug it into your computer using the included USB-C cable and that’s it. There is no extra software needed. You just add your usual video source into your streaming software and it picks it all up from there.

Being compatible with a multitude of applications the CAPTURE 4K is an absolute must-buy for anyone looking for a capture card.

MIC PRO USB

One, two, one, one, t-two

Another great product from Steamplify is the MIC PRO USB, coming in at £79.99 over at Overclockers. The MIC PRO delivers crystal clear audio with some neat functions beneath that hexagonal pattern. Out of the box, it comes with its own anti-vibration shock mount and its own little stand. I quickly discarded the stand and used my mic boom arm to help get that microphone in a better physical position for optimum pickup. Talking about pickup, the MIC Pro has four condenser capsules each with different pickup patterns. So whether you are using this microphone in a solo or even a podcast setting, there is a pickup pattern just for you.

Setting the MIC PRO up was literally as easy as plugging the USB cable into the bottom. It’s then automatically picked up by your computer and available for use however or whenever you need. Whether it’s Discord calls, or using it for those gaming nights with friends. The MIC PRO is more than capable of keeping up with other microphones in the market.

Testing Testing

With some neat integrated features, such as gain control for adjusting your microphone quickly. As well as an audio-out 3.5mm jack to allow you to monitor your voice in real-time. Who could forget the fancy touch-sensitive mute button at the top.

Using this while streaming has been great, being able to adjust the volume of the microphone on the fly allows quick adjustments. Ensuring that your viewers aren’t put off by unprofessional sounding vocals, the MIC PRO delivers accurate and warm vocals. The mute button came in handy when a sneaky cough crept up too!

Using a USB 2.0 Type A connection ensures that the MIC PRO is compatible with as high a variety of devices. Gaming PCs, laptops as well as some consoles are available to make use of the MIC PRO.

Did I forget to mention the RGB? With a black finish with a vibrant RGB ring around the base. Being able to switch between 10 presets using the little touch-sensitive button on the front of the MIC PRO. Even turning it off if you don’t want to be distracted by the dancing lights.

CAM PRO 4K

Always watching

Being a long-time user of the original Streamplify CAM, the opportunity to try out the CAM PRO was not going to pass me by. Being advertised with better resolution and a wider angle view I couldn’t wait. I was not disappointed.

Coming in with a 4K resolution up to 30 frames per second, the CAM PRO at £83.99 is a steal. Seriously, we should be giving Streamplify money back in exchange for this ludicrously priced webcam. With a Sony CMOS sensor, your footage can be recorded in either YUV2 or MJPEG format. This gives it a greater range of compatibility. If you want a higher frame rate then just drop the resolution to FHD or below and you get a nice crisp 60 frames per second.

Does this angle make me look small?

The CAM PRO has a super wide 105-degree viewing angle and with its 8.5-megapixel camera, ensures that you look great. If that wide angle is a little bit too wide, then drop it down to 720p resolution and a little touch button on the side gives you 5 x digital zoom.

The CAM PRO also has a magnetic base so that you can use it on a variety of screens, even those with a thin bevel. Thankfully on my Samsung monitor, it has a decent-sized bevel so the usual mountain options are perfect.

One of the more impressive features that made a big difference when I used this for streaming was the autofocus. Have you ever been streaming when your camera has struggled to keep you in focus? Well the CAM PRO has autofocus that reacts super fast. Add to the focus range of 70mm to infinity, I was able to show off small items on camera and keep them in focus. The CAM PRO also has automatic light enhancement to ensure all your footage is as well exposed as possible.

Final Thoughts

There is no doubt that Streamplify are looking to change the content creation industry. They have been steadily doing it with their previous products, these however feel like another huge leap forward. Coming in at a super competitive price point for feature packed goodies. Streamplify are redefining what equipment streamers and influencers need. I urge you to check out their website and see some of the other incredible products they have on show. From green screens to USB Hubs, they have something for everyone.

Seeing these products has made me keen to see what Streamplify come up with next. Because whatever it is, its going to change the game forever!
