Scarlet Hollow – PC Preview

There’s something deeply unsettling about small towns. Maybe it’s how everyone knows your business, or perhaps it’s the sense that you might never leave once you’ve arrived. Scarlet Hollow, developed and published by Black Tabby Games, leans into that creeping dread with a masterful blend of mystery, horror, and pitch, black humour. Best known for Slay the Princess, the indie duo behind Black Tabby Games have crafted another narrative-driven gem where your choices matter, your relationships evolve, and no one is getting out unscathed. With four episodes currently available (out of seven planned) on Steam, Scarlet Hollow is already shaping up to be one of the most immersive experiences in gaming. ORDER 13 – PC Review

Well, thanks to the team at Cybernetic Walrus, I’ll be fulfilling orders in ORDER 13. A new horror game where we navigate a dark (yet clean) warehouse, while avoiding what lurks in the shadows. Is it monsters or just the lazy colleagues who refuse to work? Who knows? But it looks like I’m gonna find out. If you’re interested, then you can check ORDER 13’s Steam page here. Might need to order some new trousers. Gameplay ORDER 13 doesn’t have a story. All we know is that we get a daily quota, which we must fulfil. You’ll start off by printing out an order with various numbers and letters. These indicate which section/shelf the product is held in. As you head out onto the warehouse floor, you’ll see just how dark it is, which makes navigating kinda difficult. But not overly. On the bot...

Red Square Games (SlavicPunk: Oldtimer) and Sylen Studio (The Sin Collector: Repentless) are both developing and publishing the game. Explore the dark world of an apocalypse of biblical proportions today only on Steam. The Apocalypse is a Dark, Brutal Place... Reading up on a game description can really only gets you so far. I really am not sure what I was expecting going into Sancticide. What I found was definitely not it. Have you ever run into this before? Where the content within the game isn't what you were expecting? I mean I had an idea but check out my thoughts in the preview below. Gameplay Sancticide is a third-person action game based in the midst of the biblical apocalyp...

Confronted – PC Preview

Confronted has been out since October last year and was made by Grumpy Rock Studios (I love that name). It’s a new survival-horror which emphasises the use of making your own cover. I’ll find resources and attempt to stay away from what stalks me in the shadows. The game is currently in early access on Steam for £5.99. It only has one chapter right now, with two more on the way. When Confronted, Hide Instead. Confronted’s story starts with a narrated letter from a prisoner named Nicolae. Who is pleading for aid from a woman called Dorinela, who we play as? This leads us to go save him from Castle Radu. Gameplay The gameplay of Confronted so far is mainly walking and hiding. Hiding being the key thing to point out. Really early in the game, we get the turn screw. It’s the tool that ...

If data entry wasn't bad enough, Mike Monroe with Belief Engine have added psychological horror into the mix with new release DEAD LETTER DEPT. After moving to the big city, you find yourself working the night shift at a data entry job. Lost letters make their way to your desktop, pleading for you to get them to their home. There are multiple endings to uncover and story hidden in every letter. It's time to clock in and start your shift. DEAD LETTER DEPT. is currently available on Steam for £12.79 Is that a 3 or an 8? Or is it a 0? Gameplay DEAD LETTER DEPT. puts you in the position of a 'data conversion operator'. It is your job to go through all of the mail that the computer cannot decipher and manually input the information one letter at a time. There's a bit of roaming around t...

SCP: Fragmented Minds – PC Preview

I love it when studios have a go at making a game of the SCP universe. And HST Studios is shooting their shot. Entering early access is SCP: Fragmented Minds, a new survival horror where we will fight or hide while trying to uncover the truth in an abandoned facility. Its first full chapter is out now on Steam for £7.99. SCP-TC-J [CodeName] Thumb Culture Preview I’m glad to be checking out another single-player SCP game. The amount of creatures and organizations they have gives a lot of chances to tell a new story. The SCP Foundation has something for everyone, from gods to something resembling a cute orange jelly pal. I have already played a couple of other games which are okay, but I’m hoping SCP Fragmented Minds can really push it. One I reviewed not so long ago is Go Home Annie...

Developed by PlaySide Studios LTD and published by Oculus Publishing, released on the Quest 3 and 3S back at the start of December. You can grab it from the Meta store for £15.99. Enigma of Fear – PC Review

What is the fear? Well, thanks to both Dumativa and Cellbit, we’ll find out soon enough. My job is to find out what paranormal events have been occurring in a place called the Perimeter. As I play Mia and her loyal four-legged companion, Lupi. We will solve puzzles and try to crack the code in Enigma of Fear. The game is available on Steam for £20.99, and was released late November. Played it already, what’s your thoughts? Why can't it be Enigma of Baked Goods? The Cabin Factory – PC Review

The Cabin Factory is a short-run horror game from International Cat Studio in which you play as a woman inspecting cabins for ghosts. Similar to games like PT, I would class it as a spooky walking simulator game full of spooks and scares. I (somehow) managed to correctly process 8 cabins and get through to the end of the game and I'm here to press the button on whether it's worth adding to your  Steam library even at the low introductory cost of £2.24! Don't book any of these cabins for your next holiday! Gameplay The job is simple. Start your day, inspect cabins and ensure they're not haunted. After a legal dispute, it's now necessary to make sure there are no anomalies hiding behind the curtains of the cabins that are being sold. If you think there's nothing wrong, press the green b...
