LEGO Voyagers Game Announced

It's Summer Game Fest time and with it have come a lot of announcements from a lot of big names. Including the LEGO Group who in collaboration with Light Brick Studio and Annapurna Interactive announced LEGO Voyagers. This is a creative co-op adventure game coming to consoles and PC later this year. Just Some Bricks On A Journey LEGO Voyagers is a 2-player cooperative LEGO play experience. Which I know sounds a bit pretentious but I'm just telling you what I was told! In the game players embark on a journey full of platforming challenges and puzzles, all while playing as LEGO bricks. The story will revolve around two friends who make it their mission to rescue an abandoned spaceship. Of course the journey is not straight forward and becomes an adventure beyond their wildest dreams, ultim...

SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure – PC Review

I've been searching for a game to fill the gap that Cuisineer has left. So when indie developers kopiforge reached out offering the chance to play their new game SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure I couldn't say yes fast enough. Recently released on Steam for around £13, this game promises a cooking-combat adventure. And even better it's first and foremost a co-op game! Wok hard, Play Harder As one half of a co-op streaming channel, you can often find me moaning that the co-op genre has been brimming with games that are much of the same muchness. Same gameplay recipe, slightly different game dished up. Which is where I'm really hopeful that SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure is different. Let's head out on this quest together. Plot The story begins with friends Som and Gon walking along the beac...

Hypercharge: Unboxed – PS5 Review

Hypercharge: Unboxed is a first-person and third-person action figure shooter. Hypercharge: Unboxed was developed and published by the five indie developers at Digital Cybercherries. The feat here is a fully complete game with some decent amount of content and fun even with just a five person team. It's nice to see a passion project come to life like this. The game is available on the PlayStation Store for Pre-Order ahead of it's launch on the 30th May at 4pm. Hypercharge?? More Like Hydrocharge! If you ever spent your younger years wishing you could be a toy soldier and role play all your favourite stories, then this is the game for you! Gameplay The gameplay loop of Hypercharge: Unboxed is very straight forward. This is basically a tower defence game shooter. Where you, a toy of ...

Oppidum – PS5 Review

Open-world survival crafting games are relatively commonplace in today's gaming market. That said, I'm always excited to try any new ones, especially when they look as intriguing as Oppidum! Created by developer EP Games, Oppidum is a story-driven adventure for one to four players, with a charming art style and simple yet rewarding combat and crafting mechanics. Recently released for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and PC, a Switch version of the game is coming soon. I'll be playing the PlayStation 5 version for this review. Could this be my next gaming obsession? Or will it be just one of many underwhelming titles in the genre? Let's have a look! Cats and Crafting and Co-op, oh my! Oppidum opens with a relatively robust character creator, with more than enough optio...

Revenge of The Savage Planet – PS5 Review

Revenge of the Savage Planet follows Journey to the Savage Planet, a sleeper hit from 2020. Raccoon Logic, a studio formed by developers from the now-defunct Typhoon Studios (the original developer), created the sequel. The game released across PC and consoles on May 8th. For this review I took a look at the PlayStation 5 version. Story Revenge Of The Savage Planet sees you wake up from a cryogenic slumber, having been sent lightyears into the future. However, things turn sour when you wake up and you discover that the corporation that sent you Alta, has fired you, leaving you to fend for yourself with the limited resources available to you. You’ll find the rest of you equipment scattered across multiple other planets, where you’ll catalogue a vast array of flora and fauna as you piece t...

Forever Skies – PS5 Review

Originally released in Early Access back in 2023, and after a good amount of updates, version 1.0 of Forever Skies is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Coming to us from developer Far From Home, this base-building survivor title impressed us back when we previewed it in August 2023. But does the full release leave a positive impression? The Apocalypse Has Never Been So Peaceful As a fan of this genre, I was rather excited to finally get my hands on it after playing the demo. Have you already played Forever Skies on Steam, or have you been eagerly anticipating it as much as me? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the game in the comments below! But for now, let's get into the review and see what this game's all about, shall we? Gameplay Upon booting up...

Forecursed – PC Preview

Hide and seek takes a turn in Forecursed by William Van Herck. In this action survivor you can play with up to twelve players across a range of maps and try to survive as your friend hunts you down to pass on the curse. We got the chance to get a couple of TC friends together to try out early access. Hide and seek just because a whole lot whackier You can currently grab Forecursed in Early Access from Steam for £8.50. Let's take a look. Gameplay Forecursed is madness from the get go. Even just loading into the player hub you can waste time flinging yourself across the hanger or dip into the jail to test the curse out. It's a nice little training ground that you can back and forth in with other people in the lobby to figure out the controls. That's not necessary however as the contr...

Croc Legend of the Gobbos Remastered – PS5 Review

Croc is hopping back into action in Croc Legend of the Gobbos Remastered. Argonaut Games has taken up the task of fitting this classic game into more modern settings through upgraded graphics, a brand new control scheme and some other features. This funky little remaster is available on the Playstation Store for £24.99 Gems, fur balls with crowns and a whole lot of jumping Gameplay Simply put, Croc does exactly what it is meant to do. It plays a lot smoother than it used to (or maybe I'm just better at games now) whilst keeping that nostalgic feeling alive. It's a game that doesn't have many bells and whistles, but it really doesn't need them. If you have played Croc in the past, it's almost exactly the same as playing it back in the days of the PS1. Jumping, running, and tail w...

Split Fiction – PS5 Review

Hazelight Studio, champions of modern co-op, return with another 2-person adventure, Split Fiction. Their last effort, It Takes Two, sold over 20 million copies and won multiple Game of the Year and Best Multiplayer awards. It even managed to snag a Thumb Culture Platinum Award from yours truly. Can Hazelight create a follow-up that matches or exceeds their previous game? There's only one way to find out. Writers Blocked Split Fiction tells the story of 2 struggling writers, Zoe and Mio, who are in the process of getting their first publishing deal with mega-corporation, Rader Publishing. Zoe is a chirpy optimist who writes fantasy stories, while Mio is a reserved pessimistic, sci-fi author. Upon discovering that they must submit themselves to a strange experiment to complete their deal,...

Door Kickers 2: Task Force North – PC Review

Door Kickers 2: Task Force North, by devs KillHouse Games, is a top-down tactical strategy game that builds on its predecessor’s foundation and offers a truly immersive, tactical, and fast-paced experience. With games that require critical thinking, teamwork, and real-time decision-making, titles like XCOM and Rainbow Six Siege have captured players' imaginations worldwide. Door Kickers 2: Task Force North is another title that seeks to deepen the tactical experience, offering players the chance to take command of an elite counter-terrorism unit. Plan, Lock & Load! Gameplay Door Kickers 2 stands out for its approach to real-time strategy. Instead of the typical turn-based mechanics seen in similar games, it tasks players with controlling a team of counter-terrorism operatives a...
