The Demons Told Me To Make This Game – PC Preview

The Demons Told Me To Make This Game is the debut title from self-proclaimed “reckless artist” Haunted Dude is a wild mash of genres. It’s part horror, part mystery, and a bold take on the visual novel format. Can you steer one of gaming’s oddest couples from the jaws of death? Or would you rather let them walk straight into it? In The Demons Told Me To Make This Game, the choice is truly yours. It's also available in early access now on Steam for just £11. The Devil Is In The Detail If games were about first impressions, then The Demons Told Me To Make This Game leaves a weird and confusing one. You progress through the desolately dark town of Red Hives, trying to comprehend why the town’s inhabitants are behaving so strangely.  With possessed individuals at every turn, there is some...

Back to the Dawn – PC Review

In truth, Back to the Dawn wasn’t even on my radar. But after watching the trailer, it caught my eye. The game is a story-rich RPG developed by Metal Head Games. Set in prison, where we aim to uncover some conspiracies and watch our backs. Back to the Dawn is out now on Steam for £16.75, with a supporter's pack as well. The pack costs £4.99 and comes with some fun little goodies in-game. You’ll get two posters, dice skins, and new decorative options for your cell. If you wish to buy the game for yourself, then click here. A concrete jungle is still a jungle. Before you jump into Back to the Dawn’s story, you're given a choice between two characters. Thomas the Fox and Bob the Black Panther. Both have their own reasons for being sentenced to jail. I selected Thomas, as the game sugges...

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 PC Review

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is an Action, Adventure made by CyberConnect2. With assistance with publishing from SEGA. This game is a continuation of the first game Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles. It's a hand in hand rendition of the anime Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba-. To the point that we only get these games after a year when the anime ended. So, if you want to know more about the story, then I highly recommend watching the anime. Unless you're like me and want to immerse yourself into the world and get your hands dirty, then be my guest. Something else I want to touch on is going to be CyberConnect2's history with making anime renditions of games. They previously had their hands in making the entire Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm...

Lucy Dreaming – PS5 Review

The 90s were a decade filled with some truly fantastic Point and Click games. Many of which are still fondly remembered to this day. Unfortunately, the genre seems to be more of a rarity in today's gaming landscape! So, when developer Tall Story Games announced Lucy Dreaming was coming to consoles, I just had to review it! Lucy Dreaming was originally released on Steam in 2022, with a "Very Positive" review rating from players. At a glance, this looks like a wonderfully British-themed adventure full of witty writing and clever puzzles. But, is that truly the case? Lucy In the Sky With... Nightmares? From Day of the Tentacle to the Deponia series, I've played a bunch of point-and-click games over the years. That said, I'd love to hear some of your recommendations! Let me know in the co...

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate PC Review

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate is an action-adventure FPS from the long-standing company, Bungie. The Edge of Fate is the ninth expansion, which has you literally dealing with the Nine. For those who don't know the lore of Destiny 2, or hasn't been playing Destiny since 2014 I'll explain. The Nine is a group consisting of cosmic beings that have an unimaginable amount of power that makes armies look like ants. I would recommend listening to the lore videos on mynameisbyf's YouTube channel. While investigating the EDZ, Ikora comes across this weird signal that she checks out with her Hidden beside her. Moments from getting the transmission, a train appears out of nowhere and clearly leaves behind what seems an invitation. This leads her to the actual edge of the universe to land on Kepler, ...

One-Eyed Likho – PC Review

One-Eyed Likho is a first-person horror game and tells the story of the old Slavic tale of with the same name. Morteshka, the devs behind this reimagine, released a demo back in the Steam Next Fest. That’s what caught my eye to begin with (no pun intended). The game is out today (the 28th of July 2025) on Steam. Warning GIFs used may contain flashing images! Let's go in blind together. Gameplay The demo covers the beginning of the game with a man called Smith and his friend Tailor, who both decides to venture out into the dark forest. Smith aims to find evil, while I think Tailor wants a kaftan, which is a type of clothing — similar to a robe — worn by Slavic men. If you’ve played enough horror games, or hell any style of game, you'll know it’s never that simple! Although you mainl...

No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES – PC Review

No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES is an Adventure game, made by the wild minds from Spike Chunsoft. They're behind not only this series, but many others like Danganronpa and Stein's Gate. Basically, most of my favourite story telling adventure games came from this company. No Sleep for Kaname Date is the third instalment of the AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES series and launches today (25th July) on Steam. As someone who's invested over a combined 80 hours from the first two alone, this was actually an amazing addition. Remember, when you're feeling sad or lost, just pick up a Porn-o mag to wash away the pain. When it comes to the timeline of the game, this one take place between both the first game and nirvanA Initiative. Getting to do the puzzles so blind that I had no guides...

Everdeep Aurora – PC Review

Digging deep, metaphorically and literally, is the heart of the matter in Everdeep Aurora by developer Nautilus Games and publisher Ysbryd Games. Completely switching out combat for conversation and cavern delving, this exploration-centric adventure game takes inspiration from the 16-bit era and Game Boy Metroidvania classics. In a world perpetually beset by apocalyptic meteor showers, the population has relocated underground to rebuild their lives. As Shell the kitten, you awake on the surface to find your mother gone, leaving only a vague note. To track her down, you must bravely venture underground. Using your trusty drill, you must uncover the secrets of the deep and the people who now dwell in the darkness. I Am A Cat and I'm Digging A Hole As one of Thumb Culture’s resident pixe...

Bite Sized PC Review – RATSHAKER

RATSHAKER is a horror with a comedic twist, like the title suggests — we shake a rat. Soooo, yeah. The game is developed by Sunscorched Studios and is currently out on Steam for £2.49. I mean, there is also a supporter's pack for an additional £8.50 which gets you some outfit for said rat. I've heard of choking the chicken, but this is a new one. Gameplay RATSHAKER starts with you in a field and gives you the rundown of how to shake the rat. Although you mainly walk around shaking the rat to fill up the bar above, you can also choke him too. When shaking him, he will go through various noises, with some making him sound demented. And choking him is used to unlock doors, be warned choking him for too long will kill him (duh). Occasionally the rat will speak to you in his deep toned ...

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers – PS5 Review

Earlier this year, I played the preview for WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, a new souls-like game. Developed by Leenzee and published by 505 Games. Now, I’ll finally get the chance to step in and explore the world they’ve created. Has this one been on your list? If so, then you’ll be able to pick it up on PlayStation for £44.99, or for £49.99 will land you the Digital Deluxe Edition. That gets you a couple more outfits and weapons, as well as some skill point upgrades. If you want to know my previous thoughts on WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers’ preview, click here. Warning: GIFs used might contain flashing images. Fate is such a hard thing to avoid. Like I mentioned in my preview, we play as the titular character, Wuchang. A young woman who awakens in a cave with no recollection of what has pas...
