We love hardware here at Thumb Culture. We also really enjoy everything that Razer releases. Back at the start of November, we were gifted the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35k. To start, what a name, not something that rolls off the tongue but wow. This mouse represents something great from the Razer team, a combination of technology from some of the best-selling mice available. What does that really mean though? Shall we go and take a look?
Razer-ing the Bar!
I have only been using this mouse for just under a month now, but it’s overtaken the previous mouse that had pride of place on my desk. Why is it such a great mouse though? There is so much to say about this one, so let’s dive right in.
Design
The design follows the traditional shape of the Razer Basilisk range, with a slight lip where your thumb can rest. A couple of customisable buttons adorn the side of the mouse, allowing quick access to whatever action you fancy.

Dropping down to the bottom you have some nice RGB lighting. All customisable with the new and updated Synapse app. This is a feature I actually quite enjoy, as it means I can have all my Razer hardware synced to make the same colour patterns at the same time.
Really what makes this Razer Basilisk different from all the others in the range is the features.
Features
This is what you wanted to read, what actually is this mouse all about. What makes it sing? What makes it feel good in your hand?
Thanks to the Razer Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor Gen-2, this sensor delivers unrivalled precision on any surface and is enhanced by features like Smart Tracking and Motion Sync. Gamers can enjoy up to 140 hours on Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, or up to 210 hours on Bluetooth, on a single charge. The configurable Razer HyperScroll Tilt Wheel offers customizable scrolling experiences from smooth, free-spinning to tactile incremental movements.
It goes without saying, all these features mean nothing if you don’t really use them. What I will say is that the sensor in the Razer Basilisk is one of the most accurate ones I’ve used in a mouse in a long time. I found myself hitting headshots and being more accurate when playing Call of Duty which has to mean something right?

Connectivity
As with most high-end pieces of hardware, they come with an app. The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is no different. With the Razer Synapse app, you can customise everything. From the smart-reel mode allowing you to set it to automatically switch from tactile to free-spinning. To change the DPI Sensitivity steps as well as add a specific DPI for the clutch button.
The mouse obviously is a wireless mouse, with an incredible battery life. However, if you so wish you can use it wired. When I first started using the mouse I had a few instances where the connection would drop for a couple of seconds now and then. I moved the dongle to the back of the desk and that seemed to irradicate the issue. Seemingly there was something interfering with the connection and causing the issue.
Final Thoughts
Razer has done it again. They’ve made their already award-winning Basilisk V3 even better. As I said earlier in the article it has now replaced my Logitech mouse on my desk and I couldn’t be happier. With the killer battery life as well as the features of the new Synapse app, how could it not?
The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K won’t win any awards for its name, but it definitely will win over gamers with its features.
I award it the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
