October on PlayStation comes to a close with a bang! Whilst I’ve highlighted three games not to be missed, there is one true standout. And that is of course the long awaited for Phasmophobia on console, of which you can find our review of here!

Phasmophobia (PS5, PS4) – October 29th

Phasmophobia is a survival horror game that is played from the first person perspective. The player works alone or in a group of up to three other players to complete a contract to identify the type of ghost haunting the designated location. Players can communicate using voice chat, both locally within a short distance and globally via walkie-talkies. Phasmophobia includes speech recognition, which allows specific pieces of equipment, cursed possessions, and additionally the ghost to hear and understand keywords and phrases spoken by participants. Gathering evidence to determine the correct ghost type and surviving should result in earning the majority of the cash and XP, but completing objectives and taking photos could increase or even double the rewards. Investigators are encouraged to finish as many tasks as possible in order to level up and earn money, which will unlock new maps, levels, and item upgrades.

Vampire Hunters (PS5, PS4) – October 30th

Shoot, stack – and slay! Vampire Hunters is a Roguelite Survivors FPS where the toughest Transylvanians stack guns to mow down monsters with extreme firepower. Collect new weapons, upgrade, and dominate as you explore new levels in this retro-inspired Bullet Heaven FPS.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5) – October 31st

Enter the world of Thedas, a vibrant land of wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities – steeped in conflict and secret magics. Now, a pair of corrupt ancient gods have broken free from centuries of darkness and are hellbent on destroying the world.

Thedas needs someone they can count on. Rise as Rook, Dragon Age’s newest hero. Be who you want to be and play how you want to play as you fight to stop the gods from blighting the world. But you can’t do this alone – the odds are stacked against you. Lead a team of seven companions, each with their own rich story to discover and shape, and together you will become The Veilguard.
