October PlayStation Releases – Week 4

It's another stacked week in October on PlayStation, with over 30 this upcoming week! As ever we'll start with my top picks of the week. These are the four games I believe are not to be missed this week. Potionomics: Masterwork Edition (PS5) - October 22nd After her uncle's untimely death, a penniless witch named Sylvia unexpectedly inherits a potion shop along with a significant amount of debt. Despite being a novice, Sylvia must take charge of the business and rescue herself from financial ruin. Fortunately, she won't be tackling this challenge alone. With the support of new friends, Sylvia will develop her negotiation skills, surpass her most cunning competitors, and establish her shop as the premier potion emporium in Rafta. The key to success lies in mastering the intricacies of Pot...

Destiny 2: Episode Revenant Act 1 Review

Breaking the Ice Community sentiment around Destiny 2, and its developer, hasn't been the best since the release of The Final Shape expansion. As Act 1 of Episode 2: Revenant starts, is there enough for players to sink their teeth into? Grab your guns and hold fast to your Light, we're going alien vampire hunting. Changing of the Old Ways, yes? Potential story spoilers head for Act 1 of Revenant. Bungie is experimenting with the delivery of seasonal story content in this episode. All narrative content for each act in an episode will be available on launch week. Previously, story content was bulked out with weekly timegates or monotonous filler objectives. This leads to fatigue with story pacing, especially for those within the lore community. Bungie is hopeful this experiment wil...

LEGO Fortnite Peely Bone Set Review

Back in July, we covered the exciting news that LEGO and Fortnite were bringing their collab outside of the virtual world and into the hands of brick lovers everywhere. As an avid Fortnite player and LEGO collector these sets made my little gamer's heart jump for joy. At least that's what I'm telling myself that's what those palpitations were. One set in particular immediately went on our must-have list. Ok, ok, one set in particular went to the top of our must-have list. This was of course the LEGO Fortnite Peely Bone set. And thanks to our friends over at LEGO we got our hands on it early! Fortnite (backstory) build mode If you're reading this, we're going to assume that you know who Peely Bone is. Just in case you don't, and you're here simply because you think this LEGO set looks coo...

Arachnophobia Accessibility is good, now let’s design better

Content Warning: If you have severe arachnophobia, be aware that while there are no images of spiders in this article, there may be descriptive language about them or their environment in games (eg. thick webbing, movement), please skip this article at your discretion. All spiders were virtually harmed in the making of this article. Posting Opinions on the World-Wide Web With Halloween drawing near, many people with arachnophobia - like myself - are dreading the month of October. I don't know which of the divine powers came up with the idea that spiders should exist, but our fascination with fear can make even a simple supermarket shopping trip, or MMO fetch quest, unbearable. Though they are kind of one in the same. Games have come a long way in helping mitigate that. The recent intr...

Dig VR Press Event Roundup

Recently I had the amazing opportunity with Thumb Culture to attend a Dig VR press event. Just Add Water and Wired Productions held the day-long event at the awesome DiggerLand theme park in Kent. Not only were we given the chance to experience the new Dig VR simulator game, but we also got to have a go on real-life diggers. Needless to say, mud was thrown around! We recently covered the news about the game releasing on 24th October. And so getting the chance to play Dig VR and chat to everyone involved made for a fantastic occasion. Enter Thumb Culture After having a meet and greet, and winding up Wired's Community Manager Steve with how close we lived to the venue, we were sorted into our groups and given a timetable of events. Our first item of the day was to go and play the Dig...
