If a budget keyboard is something you are after, then Acer has you covered. The Predator Aethon 303 is a great clicky keyboard with some nice features. The best part is that it won’t break the bank. Retailing at around £60, this keyboard will be a great upgrade if money is limited.

Budget Price, Top Features

Most gaming keyboards these days often come with the same set of features. What sets the Predator Aethon 303 apart from some of the other budget keyboards out there? Well, that is just what I plan to attempt in this review. So sit back and join me on this journey of discovery.

Design Features

Being a budget keyboard, you don’t get some of the more fancier features from more expensive keyboards. However, the Predator Aethon 303 features a lovely set of clicky blue switches. They are responsive and perfect for those who need that audible queue that they have pressed a key. One of my favourite features was the WASD having a different colour keycap. Making them stand out really emphasises that this is a gaming keyboard.

Featuring a solid aluminium top plate, this keyboard is sturdy and able to withstand 50 million keystrokes. Just to give you an idea of that in real terms. That is around 10 years ish of usage. So it should last you a good amount of time. Hopefully! With Anti-ghosting on those keystrokes you can be assured that your gameplay will be smoother with no conflicting button presses.

The RGB on the Aethon 303 is pretty nice. Featuring individual per-key lighting with built in effects giving you a nice rainbow effect. Personally I don’t often spend too much time playing with the RGB of a keyboard, and with this one being so clean and nice straight out the box I didn’t see the point.

Final Thoughts

I know this is somewhat of a short review. However, I don’t feel that the Acer Predator Aethon 303 keyboard needs a long winded review. With a great price point with some great features. The only thing you’ll have to consider is how loud you want your keyboard to be. The clicky keys can get a little tiring, especially if it’s not what you are used to.

With that said though, this keyboard is a middle of the road offering that perfectly justifieds its price point.
