Will Like A Dragon Gaiden Come To Xbox Gamepass?

Microsoft have been doing an incredible job recently, bringing Japanese games to Xbox players around the world. Adding both the Persona and Yakuza/Like a Dragon series to their Game Pass offerings, the attention now turns to the latest title from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, the developers of the series formerly known as Yakuza, Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name. Will Microsoft manage to nab Gaiden for it’s Game Pass lineup? After all, Zero to Like a Dragon are all there. Conversely, Ishin isn’t available via Game Pass.

This One Is For You, Kyodais!

So, will Gaiden be available on Game Pass? Microsoft took to the stage at the Tokyo Game Show and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Head Masayoshi Yokoyama had an answer for exactly that.

Yes, Gaiden will be available on Game Pass. From Day 1 no less. But that isn’t all. Masayoshi also confirmed that Like a Dragon Ishin would be making its way to Xbox Game Pass in 2023. However, no exact date was given. Ishin is a fantastic game, and if you haven’t played it yet you should absolutely check it out when it drops on Game Pass. What The Future Holds

Now, this in no way confirms that the eight mainline game in the series, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass. But after Ishin and Day 1 Gaiden, I don’t find the notion too improbable. For now, though, we will just have to wait and see.

In any case, I’m just looking forward to seeing what Kiryu ahem Joryu, has been up to since the events of Yakuza 6. The recent Like a Dragon Direct let us know that poor Kiryu can never catch a break. But hey, on the bright side, he has these cool gadgets to fight thugs with from his agent style.

Now that we have confirmation that Gaiden will be coming to Game Pass, will you be playing? Or will you still just be purchasing it?

Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name will be available for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and will release on 9th November 2023.
