Terry’s Tiny Trip of Tremendous Self-Discovery
Terry is a tiny resident based in the vibrant town of Sprankelwater. A tiny resident who goes on a small journey to discover big things.
Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip was released on May 30th, 2024, and is available on Steam for £14.99.

Have you ever had a dream where you wish you could go into space in a super, fast turbo car and become the most famous person in your small, but not-so-small town? If the answer is yes, then definitely read on about the adventures of Tiny Terry and his Turbo Taxi. If the answer is no, read anyway. I think Terry will inspire you.
Gameplay
You start the game in a job application center, where you meet Terry. Terry is in search of a job that will give him access to a car, to fulfill his lifelong goal: Going to space. After a brief chat with Grony and Speply, two Sprankelwaterians who may be important later, Terry has an interview. This leads to Terry gaining an unpaid position (but free car) as a taxi driver. Thus begins his quest to get to space. Once players get the car, they can choose what quest they want to start from the map and begin exploring the town of Sprankelwater.

The quests are quite varied. There are main ones that move the story along and side quests. These vary from fetch quests, to challenges, and stretch goals. Terry will go on to assist the residents around the town. Either to get new items or to earn more junk. Both of which can be traded for new items to use around the map. Or spend them at the garage to upgrade your car’s boosters. Upgrading your car fully will eventually let Terry drive off into space. Thus achieving his lifelong goal to be famous for going into space. Alternatively you can spend your hard-found junk and money on items such as stylish hats. Whichever you feel is most important.
Getting Around
There are various ways of getting around town, either by foot, car, or paraglider. There are also various tools such as a net, shovel, or wrench to aid your quests. The best part of playing Tiny Terry is that you can play at your own pace. Want to fully explore every nook and cranny of Sprankelwwater? That’s fine. Want to breeze through the story as quickly as possible? That’s also fine. The world of Sprankelater is fun and wacky and rewards different kinds of players no matter their gameplay style.
Exploring the city is quick, easy, and exciting. The map is relatively small for an open-world game. But the size of it removes the fatigue of going back and forth. You can also summon Terry’s car by hitting a parking sign. Keeping player immersed in the game despite no fast-travel element. Summon your car and Terry totters around town in his taxi.

You may find that you can get physically stuck on objects around Sprankelwater, and the game provides an unstuck button which is super helpful. If you progress far enough, you also learn to “borrow” cars and sell them back to their owners. Meaning you will always have access to a car. And potentially more money.
Meet the people
Another area that Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip does well is the dialogue. Each Sprankelwaterian that offers quests has a unique personality that introduces the players to various types of people living in the town. All with different needs and quick quips when interacting with Terry. It’s from these characters that players have an insight into this wacky town and all the things that happen.
It is recommended to play the game on a controller, and whilst you can try a mouse and keyboard, the comfort levels of using a controller are superior. The controls were easy to understand and intuitive.
Graphics & Audio
For this review, Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip was played on PC via Steam. At the time of reviewing this was the only platform on which the game was available. Overall, the game performed well and there were no major frame rate or graphical issues. However, I did face one issue. In that the game would crash occasionally when trying to tab out. This would be more prominent during a live stream. Whilst this may not reflect many reader’s experiences but it is significant to note. The game is quick to start up and load into where you left off, so it wasn’t a big issue.

The art style is fun, and fits the light-heartedness theme of the game, with bright and bold colors. The soundtrack also matches well with the theme. As you are surrounded by upbeat and heart-warming music by the same composer as the game Wuppo, Thomas de Waard.
Longevity
It took about roughly about 5 hours to complete the game. But depending on your play style this could be longer or shorter. All in all there are 31 Steam achievements. The majority of them being earned naturally by playing through the game.
There isn’t much replayability in terms of starting a fresh game. However once you complete the story, players are allowed to go back and try to earn all the Steam achievements. As well as complete quests that they might not have gotten around to. There are quite a few adorable quests, so I highly recommend checking out the Steam achievements. Try to experience as much as you can through all the quests. It’s genuinely worth it.
Final Thoughts
The story of Tiny Terry is wholesome, wacky, and witty. Terry goes on a tiny journey of self-discovery of what it means to live among the residents of Sprankelwater. And what it means when you achieve your goals. The best part of this game is the dialogue of all the characters you interact with. That is besides being able to play at your own pace and having amazing side quests. challenges,
The narrative writing of the personality and humour of the characters in Tiny Terry is unmatched. It is a joy to read and experience. Exploring the city of Sprankelwater, even when it’s a small map, is full of life, densely packed, and vibrant. There was never any fatigue when going back and forth for quests.
Overall this game was an enjoyable experience and fans of this genre will be delighted to playthrough this. I hope to see Tiny Terry make his debut on other platforms. I know fans across the gaming sphere would adore him.
Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip gets a Thumb Culture Platinum Award.
