VOIN – PC Preview

VOIN is a new rogue-lite game with loot mechanics from Nikita Sozidar and tinyBuild. As of yesterday (10th December) it has launched into early access on Steam at an introductory price of £15.07. I played the demo a little time ago and enjoyed the gameplay then. So here’s hoping the early access is just as promising! Rise my great creation! Did you get to play the VOIN demo? What did you think of it? Let us know in the comments below. Gameplay VOIN’s intro begins with a voice of someone known as “Master”.  This ominous voice tells our character (so far a nameless knight) to awaken. We are then led to navigate a set of caves and caverns which serve as the tutorial. Once done with the tutorial, we are sent to Amarict. Amarict is the games hub and here we have four portals we can go...

We Who Are About To Die – PC Early Access Preview

We Who Are About To Die is a roguelite gladiator simulator with a heavy focus on physics-based combat. It is currently in Early Access and under solo development by Jordy Lakiere. The game recently hit its two years in Early Access mark by celebrating with content patch v0.7, adding a significant amount of content. You can check it out now on Steam. The Best Game I've Sucked at Since Elden Ring Looking at videos of We Who Are About To Die, you kind of get a glimpse that the combat isn't exactly the usual kind. Actually playing it is a completely different experience all together. I don't feel there have been a lot of games over the years that have struck me in such a way as this one has. Have you ever found a game to not quite play as you'd expect? Check out my thoughts on this early acc...

Windblown – PC Preview

Windblown is an action, roguelite game developed by Motion Twin and published by Kepler Ghost. Motion Twin created the hit game Dead Cells, which is another game that I've  invested several hundred hours. Most of that making some insane builds of course. As of the time of writing, the game is currently in Early Access with Motion Twin stating the game will remain so for at least one year. With the intro out of the way, let's head to the eye of the storm and see how Windblown has treated me. Sudden Death is just another life lesson Gameplay Windblown is a game about the peaceful inhabitants of The Ark, a floating village orbiting around the gigantic and deadly Vortex. However that deadly Vortex is, as you can imagine, not so peaceful. The only chance The Ark has is for you to become a ...

With heart and humour, it's perfect for anyone who dreams of clearing out bad guys with a plastic flamingo. The game is available on Steam for the introductory price of £3.86. Vampire Hunters 1.0 Release – PC Review

Vampire Hunters is a roguelite, 3D survivors fps by Gamecraft Studios (For Sparta, Rogue Summoner). It rolled out of early access and into a full 1.0 release on October 30th. The game is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/X|S. Like Some Version of DOOM and Vampire Survivors' Lovechild. I'm no stranger to the FPS or Survivors genres. The latter has more recently become a popular form of entertainment for me on the go. With titles like Vampire Survivors, Halls of Torment, and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor being easy to pick up and play. It looks like Vampire Hunters is trying to give that survivors aspect a different perspective. Any crossover games that come to mind of similar type? Let me know what I should be checking out after my thoughts on the game belo...

Drill Core PC Early Access Preview

Drill Core is a mix of strategy, simulator and roguelite. It is in development by Hungry Couch Games (Black Skylands) with publishing by tinyBuild (Hello Neighbor, among many others). It is now available in early access on Steam. Dig Deep with this Pixel Roguelite Mashup Drill Core first caught my eye when I had a chance to play the demo earlier this year. I didn't have quite as much time with it as I would have liked so I was eager to get another chance to check it out. Not to mention I've been a fan of most of the games out there with the help of tinyBuild. What about you, reader? Is there a publisher you tend to follow as tried and true? Let me know in the comment section. Gameplay In Drill Core, you work for the corporate company... DrillCore... as a Platform Manager. Your prim...

Elsie – PC Review

Elsie is a rougelite, side scrolling, 2d platformer developed by Knight Shift Games and published by Playtonic Friends. I remember finding and playing the demo for Elsie during a recent Steam Nextfest event. At first I thought the game was going to be a Megaman clone. But it completely took me by surprise with the rougelite aspects that makes it enjoyable. If your abuelita offers you a cafecito, YOU...SAY...YES! Gameplay The main plot of Elsie surrounds a certain Dr Grey. Long ago Dr Grey created 5 guardians that would help keep human beings safe from any approaching disasters. These Guardians are powered by a limitless power supply known as the Archlight Core. Some time passes and the Guardians become corrupted. Causing major damage to the world they were created to protect. Dr Grey ...
