Hellcard is the latest deck-building roguelike adventure from Thing Trunk (Book of Demons). It is now available in Early Access on PC via Steam with publishing by Skystone Games (Undying) and Surefire Games (Riftbreaker). Players can fight through dungeons solo or co-op, upgrading and building up their deck to bring down the paper armies of darkness once again. They May Be Paper, But They Still Do Damage in Hellcard If you have not yet had a chance to play Book of Demons, I sincerely hope you take the time to do so. It's a lot of fun, presents its own challenges and is easily worth the value. Knowing the fun I had in Book of Demons, I couldn't pass up the chance to play Hellcard too. I also will be sure to check out Book of Aliens in the future. I'm sure everyone has their own game serie...

Mahokenshi – PC Review

From developers Game Source Studios we have Mahokenshi. This deckbuilding adventure hex-strategy title was released on the 24th of January 2023 and was published by Iceberg Interactive, who brought us Land Of The Vikings. Which Mahokenshi will you choose? Deckbuilder titles are increasingly becoming my go-to title when gaming solo. I enjoy the various gameplay styles they offer with the more complex titles, yet enjoy the simplicity of some of the more mobile on-the-go versions. Let's dive in and see just what Mahokenshi has to offer. Gameplay Within Mahokenshi it is your duty to protect the Celestial Islands from the bad and the ugly. Using your chosen deck/playstyle you will battle various enemies from demons to sorcerers whilst protecting the villages being attacked. From the get-go,...

Roguebook Review

Roguebook is a roguelike deck-builder from developer Abrakam, Richard Garfield (of Magic the Gathering fame) and publisher Nacon. The game expands upon Abrakam's previous game, Faeria and plays out on the pages of its Book of Lore. Read on to find out more! You've got to know when to hold 'em. Choose your team of two legendary heroes and enter the pages of the Roguebook. Lost In Random Review

Welcome to my review of Lost in Random. This game is brought to us by developers Zoink Games (Fe, Stick it to The Man!) and is published by EA Originals (Knockout City, It Takes Two). Lost in Random is a story about two sisters named Odd and Even. They get separated due to the roll of the dice which decides the fate of Odd, who is taken away by the Queen of Random. Lost In Random Decides The Fate Of Citizens With The Roll Of The Dice I was rather fortunate in being given a review copy of Lost in Random on the PlayStation 5. Can we complete our quest and save Odd as we play as Even through the different cities in the world of Random? Keep reading to find out. Check out my previous review here, where I played King's Bounty II on the Xbox. Gameplay In the world of Random, when children hi...

Black Book Review

Black Book is a deck-based action-adventure title that also has a whole load of other stuff thrown in. Developed by Morteshka and published by Hype Train Digital and designed by Vladimir Beletsky, there is nothing to not like about the visuals of this title. Initially released in May 2020, Black Book is available across most platforms including macOS. Black Book - The Sealed Book That Holds The Answers I have been playing many titles that I wouldn't usually pick up lately. This has been broadening what I play and what I look out for in a game. Black Book stood out to me due to the beautiful environments along with what I can only describe as a fairly dark storyline. Check out my previous review here. Gameplay Black Book is a deck-building adventure RPG detective title. That's right all...

Draft Of Darkness Preview

Welcome to my preview of Draft of Darkness. Brought to us by Crawly Games, who published and developed Draft of Darkness. This game will be available on Steam Early Access on 30th July 2021. Draft of Darkness is a survival horror game that has deck-building features as well as exploration through roguelike dungeons. I was seriously surprised to learn that Crawly Games is actually a one-man team. When you play this game it definitely does not feel like the work of a single person. Think along the lines of how polished Stardew Valley felt when it first came about. Draft of Darkness - Take A Wrong Turn And It Might Be Your Last! Can we make it through the dark and dank corridors? Continue reading to find out. If you enjoy this preview, please be sure to check out my previous review here whe...
