Just Crow Things – PC Review

What do you call a group of crows? A murder! Which is very apt as this game has murdered my free time. Just Crow Things is an action adventure sandbox game developed by Unbound Creations. The same developers responsible for the wonderful stress relieving game called Rain On Your Parade. Before playing I was already impressed by the fact I would be playing as a tool wielding crow. Although it really helps me sleep at night that crows in real life can't do all that this game character can! This review was written by a living breathing crow named Noir. Gameplay Just Crow Things has you playing as a crow (who I named Tenebrae). Your Crow Grandma has decided you're old enough to venture the world and make our own nest. Before fully pushing us out of the nest Grandma gifts us a family he...

Pine Hearts and Heart Strings At first glance, Pine Hearts is a cozy, hiking game where you meet various characters and explore different locations to achieve a personal goal. It is also a tale about grief and honouring the memory of loved ones through you. If you are going through a period of grief, this may bring out strong feelings. Little Kitty, Big City – PC Review

Using one of my nine lives, I recently took a tumble into Double Dagger Studios' debut release, Little Kitty, Big City. A platformer and puzzle game released on the 9th of May on PC. It's also available on Xbox Game Pass to anyone with a valid membership. Will You Land On Your Feet? A cosy and relaxing game, with an abundance of mischief. It will not be long until you snigger at destroying a copious amount of plant pots. Gameplay Your adventure begins with a very cute kitty enjoying a nap in the brisk sunshine. However, it doesn't take long until that is rudely interrupted. Next thing you know, you are catching a ride with a crow! Unfortunately for this kitty, your apartment, where you were just sleeping, is not easy to get to. Therefore making it your main mission to return the kitty ...

Botany Manor – Switch Review

Botany Manor is a delightful single-player casual puzzle game set in 19th-century England. Developed by Devon-based Balloon Studios, it is out now on PC, Xbox (including game pass) and Nintendo Switch. I have had the pleasure of reviewing a copy for the Switch. Horticulture made fun! Playing as Arabella Greene, a retired botanist, the game is in first-person and set in the grounds of a beautiful stately home. Do you have what it takes to solve puzzles, grow plants, and reveal more about your life and career? Gameplay You begin the game in a typical old-fashioned English greenhouse, surrounded by windows, low brick walls, gardening paraphernalia and items to interact with. The controls are a simple twin-stick operation that you would expect to find with a first-person-style game....

SUMMERHOUSE – PC Review

Published by Future Friends Games, SUMMERHOUSE is the latest release from Friedemann Allmenröder. Previously having worked on titles such as ISLANDERS and Superflight, this is their first solo effort, and what a delightful game it is. Building Buildings For this review, the game was played via Steam and worked brilliantly, as it's not a demanding game. The fact that it costs just £3.99 makes it very accessible to gamers and a perfect gift to friends as a tiny gesture of appreciation. If you want to add more cozy games to your library, feel free to check out Mike's review of Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator. Gameplay The best way to describe SUMMERHOUSE is that it's exactly what it says on the tin, "A tiny building game about beautiful lived-in houses. No rules or restrictions, just pu...

Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator – PC Review

Garden Life is a first-person narrative & life-sim where you manage the community garden of a small, sleepy village. While the garden grows you also contribute to the village and its residents and quickly find your place here. Thankfully for someone like me who doesn't have a green thumb, Garden Life was easy to get into. At its root, Garden Life is a narrative game but gardening is the main gameplay mechanic with tasks and quests. However, if that's not what you're looking for there is creative mode, a sandbox version of the game. Gardening here is a simplified version of the task similar to Stardew Valley or home improvement in House Flipper but still simulates realistic responsibilities and obstacles. The game is the latest release from developers Still Alive Games (Bus Simula...
