Dragonkin: The Banished – PS5 Review

The Action RPG genre can be a tough one to break into. With series such as Diablo, Path of Exile, and the plethora of Warhammer ARPGs, to name but a few. The incredibly addictive nature of grinding, dungeon-delving, and loot-hoarding is one I've been a fan of for a long time. With Dragonkin: The Banished leaving Early Access and releasing on consoles, I knew I had to play it! Created by developer Eko Software (who know a thing or two about ARPGs!), Dragonkin has just launched its 1.0 version. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is priced at £34.99 on consoles and £20.99 on Steam. All You Need Is Loot I'll admit it. I'm one of those gamers that, when they really get into a game, it's the only thing on their mind until the credits roll. With ARPGs, t...

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection PC Review

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection (MHS3) is an Adventure RPG from the company making bangers for 2026, Capcom. As the number shows, this is the third installment to the Monster Hunter Stories. The story of the game takes place 200 years after the events in MHS2. Now, since I got to play the second entry, I can tell the major improvements to this current game. So, without further ado, let's start the review and get some Monsties. When you need eggs, courage and an understanding of how rock-paper-scissors works, you too can hunt Monsties. Gameplay MHS3 begins with a slightly generous character customization screen. What? You thought I was going to start with the story? We'll get to that after this, don't worry. Now, I will say that Capcom gave a nice selection for customizing...

Starship Troopers Ultimate Bug War – PS5 Review

It's so nice to see Starship Troopers getting so much love these last couple of years. First we had the strategy game Starship Troopers: Terran Command. Then Starship Troopers: Extermination, a multiplayer FPS, where you and other fellow cadets team against waves of bugs. And now the new single-player FPS, Starship Troopers Ultimate Bug War.  Would you like to know more? If you love the franchise then you can pick up the game on Steam and PS5. Although today I am checking it out on PS5. Gameplay Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War, has us play a dramatic retelling of Major Samantha Dietz story. We will play her story from the start with her time at basic training. All the way to her non-surprising victory against the bug menace. The game plays as your typical action FPS, with us la...

New Super Lucky’s Tale – PS5 Review

With the world literally and figuratively burning as humanity marches ever forward towards annihilation, memories of a carefree childhood playing colourful 3D platformers feel like a surreal hallucination rather than something that actually happened. A simpler time when games shipped feature complete and bonus character costumes were unlocked with double jumps and not our wallets. New Super Lucky's Tale burrows its way onto PlayStation 5 on the 26th March to show, once again, that 3D platformers can still shine in 2026, even if it still needs a little polish. A tale as old as 2019 Are you clinging onto nostalgia? What's your favourite platformer? Let us know in the comments below, and maybe you might add this to your list too. Let's get to the review. Gameplay New Super Lucky's...

Marathon – PC Review

Marathon is the latest IP from the creators of Halo and Destiny. Bungie joins the extraction shooter genre with this FPS, PvPvE style addition set in a failed human colony of the future. It is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox X|S. Shells Will Crack in Marathon Destiny 2 is one of my top games on Steam, Though I haven't been playing for a few expansions now. But my familiarity with worlds by Bungie have me looking forward to what Marathon has to offer. Especially since that whole artwork ordeal was settled. Now that it is here, how is it? Take a look at my thoughts in the review below. Gameplay Marathon is a first-person extraction shooter set in a futuristic timeline beyond humanity's attempt to colonize the planet of Tau Ceti IV. As a runner, your consciousness inhabits a synthe...

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered – PS5 Review

Who would have thought that we'd ever see the Legacy of Kain series again? Well, after last year's Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered, it looks like the franchise may be back! Potentially, but we'll have to wait and see, as the latest game, Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered, is another remaster. An updated version of the 2003 title released on PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox, does Defiance stand the test of time? Can co-developers Crystal Dynamics and PlayEveryWare bring this almost 26-year-old title to a modern audience? Or, will it only resonate with those of us that have played the original? It's always tough to say with remastered classics! Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is available now on Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series...

Inky Blinky Bob – PC Review

Inky Blinky Bob looks like it might be inspired by Choo-Choo Charles. As we take a mode of transportation, explore various islands, and hope we aren't eaten by a monster. So if you enjoy that, then you can grab Inky Blinky Bob on Steam now. Or try the demo here. This game looks like a gas Gameplay After arriving to an island and being saved from a plane crash the player is introduced to the character Ralph. He explains to us that we need to activate several Tesla towers, to lower the shields of the giant dome. Which you can not miss, as it is red. Ralph also tells us that there is a large government lap behind the dome, and that we need to destroy it. And gives the player his new creation, a hot air balloon that is kitted with guns. This is our only means from hopping from islands to ...

Homura Hime – PC Review

Homura Hime is an action game from developers Crimson Dusk and publishing company PLAYISM. As this is their first game, Crimson Dusk jump into the gaming scene with quite an impressive offering. From the combat and parrying mechanics, to the beautiful and amazing character designs, this game checks every box on my list. But, with every good thing there are slight flaws. However, it is a bit early to talk about that. Fun fact: Homura Hime literally translates to 'Flame Princess'. Floating Swords and Bullet Hell Parry Adventures. Gameplay We play as titular character Hormura Hime, the Flame Princess who is the strongest exorcist of all time. Hormura works with the top shrine maiden, who assists with shooting from a distance. Oddly, she can transform into a device that she crafted to be ...

Solateria PC Review

Solateria is an Action, Adventure Metroidvania from the creative minds at Studio Doodal. With publishing assistance from Shinsegae Information. Solateria has the look and feel of Hollow Knight, but with a heavy lean into parrying. Yes, I know what you're thinking. This is the second game in a row that has the Protag being fire based. With leaning hard on parrying being the main mechanic. The game is actually a blazing time that would have you learn your enemy's pattern and timing. Almost like a Souls like game since executing a perfect parry brings in more damage. So grab yourself the energy of your choice of energy drink and remember the golden rule when attempting Metroidvania bosses. Get some sleep and try again another day. If I had a nickel for how many games I'd review this that...

PIGFACE – PC Early Access Preview

While on Steam I was looking for a new FPS game, with some grungy visuals. And luckily I came across PIGFACE, published by DreadXP, and created by Titolovesyou, comes an ultra-violent shooter. Where we take down gangs, by any mean necessary. PIGFACE is currently in early access on Steam for £8.50, which is not that bad of a price. Murder has been served. Gameplay We play as a character, whose name I think is called Exit. Who awakes in an old rundown building with no recollection of why she is here. The player quickly finds out that a bomb has been surgically implanted into Exit's head. And must now fulfil missions for a secret team. After finish the tutorial the player is sent to an apartment where you can, take on missions, or change their appearance. So far there is not a lot in PIG...
