Fantail Games have released a new trailer for their mixed reality party game Game Night. Coming to Early Access on November 18th, Game Night will be available for Quest 2, Pro, 3 and 3S. Blending arcade action and multiplayer mayhem, get ready for a series of riotously fun minigames each with mixed reality chaos!

Bring On The Competition

Game Night will feature three minigames as it enters Early Access. Firstly there will be Fishing, in which players must compete to scoop the most fish into the basket. Next up is Bouncing, in which players bat their balloon rabbits into carrots for points. And of course Slapping, in which the alien jelly menace must be contained, presumably by slapping it?

Online Multiplayer is not supported, as Fantail Games are aiming to encourage VR lovers of all ages to come together for a modern twist on a game night. See what they did there?

Each person can decide to work together or competitively for an experience that is as unique as the group they’re playing with. Additional minigames and features will be added as final launch on the Meta store approaches in 2025.

“We think that the real secret sauce of MR is in the social experience of playing with friends and family face-to-face together in the same room,” says Fantail Games founder Steven Linton. “These deceptively simple minigames capture the essence of the best sports and boardgames, mixing physicality, tactics and social interaction. The whole family can get involved and have a blast, running around the room without the risk of falling over furniture or getting motion sickness.”

“My favourite moments during testing have been when parents play with their kids,” Linton continues. “They’re all equally into it and connecting together in a way you just don’t get with any traditional game. It’s very refreshing in a world that is becoming increasingly disconnected by technology.”

Key Features

  • Multiplayer for all ages. From teens to Grandparents as long as they can wear a VR headset, they can play!
  • Single Player Mastery. Only own one headset? Enjoy and perfect the game in single player. Each minigame has hidden strategies to learn, ready for you to master before taking on friends.
  • Get Physical. Your body is the controller so use your hands, head, body and even your voice to interact with the game and your friends.
  • No motion sickness. In Mixed Reality you’re moving around, not the world. This minimises the threat of motion sickness that can happen with some VR games.
