Fatal Frame 2 Remake – PS5 Review

I'm so happy to be checking out the remake for Fatal Frame 2. Personally, I think it was the best of the franchise after going through them a while back. The game brings with it better visuals and new story content. And, from what I have heard, a new ending. If you never had the chance to play the original version then this might be your best chance. Who know? It is available on PS5 for £44.99, with a Deluxe version also up for grabs. With that edition, you will get some outfits for the twins, a charm, soundtrack, and art book. Which will cost you £52.99. Or here me out now, try the demo before you buy. Apparently your save carries over too. These frames, ain't fatal. Gameplay For those checking out the Fatal Frame franchise, you don't need to worry about missing anything with the Fat...

Lil Gator Game: Gator of the Year – PS5 Review

After first diving into our games libraries in 2022, Lil Gator Game is back in the Gator of the Year edition which includes the main game and the In the Dark DLC. Megawobble's cozy family adventure bubbled to the surface of the Playstation store for a £17.49 for PS Plus members or for £24.99 for non-members. Adventure is this way Lil Gator! Gameplay Making friends and going on adventures is the name of the game in Lil Gator Game. After your sister has finally came home from school, all you want to do is play games like the good old days. Unfortunately for you, she's still got school work coming out of her ears (do alligators have those?) and no time to play. From that little story set up, Lil Gator Game rolls straight into the bulk of the story. Explore an open world island full...

Laysara: Summit Kingdom – PS5 Review

Originally released into Early Access on Steam back in April 2024, Laysara: Summit Kingdom has now launched it's 1.0 version! As well the PC version, Laysara is also available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. When researching the game, I found out that the developer, Quite OK Games, is actually a three-person team. Well, three people and a yak, according to their website! Right away that struck me as impressive, as the trailers showcase something that's not only very beautiful, but also looks really fun to play. But, is that truly the case? Onwards and Upwards in Laysara: Summit Kingdom City building games typically see the player expand outward, transforming a humble town into a multi-district city. In Laysara, things are a little bit differe...

God of War: Sons of Sparta – PS5 Review

Announced and shadow drop released at the end of PlayStation's State of Play livestream back on February 12th 2026, and to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise, God of War: Sons of Sparta is a  2D Metroid Vania-inspired side-scroller and prequel to the famous God of War himself, Kratos. Zeus! Your son has returned! (With his younger brother) Story - A tale of two Brothers Sons of Sparta tells a fun prequel story of Kratos as a young adolescent boy, joined by his younger brother Deimos, who previously featured in the PSP spin-off game, Ghost of Sparta. The game’s narrative is framed as a story being told by Kratos to his young daughter, Calliope. The original Kratos voice actor, TC Carson, is reprising his role as the game’s narrator. The story is fun and simple. Fo...

Under The Island – PS5 Review

If you're a gamer of a certain vintage, chances are you have fond memories of the '90s and early 2000s. From Alundra to the 2D Zelda titles, there were plenty of brilliant action RPGs during that era. With Under The Island, developer Slime King Games attempts to capture the magic that made these classics so memorable. Blending elements of modern and retro (are we calling the '90s retro now? I feel old...) games, Under The Island may well be a great debut for the developer. Can the gameplay match what is arguably a gorgeous-looking love letter to games gone by? Under The Island is out now, and is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. With that said, let's get on with the review! Above, Around, and Under The Island! With...

Docked – PS5 Review

Developer Saber Interactive know a thing or two about vehicle-based simulator games. From SnowRunner to last years RoadCraft, this team has made some genuinely engaging titles! Now, they're set to release Docked, which sees you taking control of your very own docking business. This is more than just running the day-to-day operations, though, as you'll be controlling some heavy-duty machinery! Available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for £24.99, is this the next must-play simulator title from a well-established dev? Or should it be cast out to sea and left well alone? Let's take a look, as we review the PS5 version of Docked! An Honest Days Graft After returning home, Tommy is helping out at his fathers dock in Port Wake. Unfortunately for Tommy, a ship carrying some ha...

Resident Evil: Requiem – PS5 Review

He's better, bigger, stronger and prettier than ever. Leon Kennedy returns in Resident Evil: Requiem the latest addition in the class Capcom horror/action series. Currently available on the Playstation Store for £64.99, can Requiem live up to its predecessors? How the hell do you get back to Racoon City? Gameplay Resident Evil Requiem immediately goes against the established RE curve by allowing the player to choose their POV. In an attempt to combine the nostalgia of the over the shoulder shots with the first person horror that appeared in Biohazard, Capcom let you personalise your experience from the menu. It recommends playing Grace's story from 1st person whilst using the over-the-shoulder camera for Leon. You can swap and change these settings as you go through the game depending...

Tavern Manager Simulator – PS5 Review

Developer One More Time's debut title, Tavern Manager Simulator, has opened up shop on PlayStation 5! Originally released on Steam back in 2024, and in January 2026 for Xbox, this simulator is exactly what it says on the tin. Or... title, in this instance. Sitting at a "Very Positive" user review score on Steam, it seems like this could be a must-play for fans of the genre! So, for anyone that's ever dreamed of opening up a cosy little pub in the countryside, let's get right into the review! You Set 'em Up and I'll Knock 'em Back Tavern Manager Simulator opens with you taking control of a rundown tavern that is in dire need of renovation. Thus, it's up to you to restore this place to its former glory and bring in the patrons. It starts off slow, with the opening missions including...

Cash Cleaner Simulator – PS5 Review

Mind Control Games' debut title, Cash Cleaner Simulator, was an indie smash hit when it was released on Steam last year. With its current user rating of "Very Positive", this is one I've had my eye on as a console gamer for some time! And, wouldn't you know it, the game is out now for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S! Simulator games usually give players the opportunity to try out relatively mundane jobs, albeit in an engaging way (sometimes). With Cash Cleaner Simulator, this job is anything but mundane! The premise is simple: launder dirty money! Who Knew Money Laundering Was So Satisfying? I do love a good sim title! From PowerWash Simulator to Electrician Simulator, and practically everything in between. I'm always on the lookout for something weird and wonderful, much like C...

Cairn – PS5 Review

What's this? Back-to-back reviews of games I did back-to-back previews of last year? That's continuity, folks. This time I'm playing Cairn, the latest game from The Game Bakers; a small French studio — just 17 full-time members working remotely around the world — responsible for Furi and Haven. It's clear these guys have some serious range. Speaking of, Cairn sees protagonist Aava tackling a mountain range, culminating in an attempt to climb the yet unconquered Kami. In order to summit this killer mountain, Aava will need grit, determination, and perseverance... as will I. Nothing Worth Doing Was Ever Easy As a realistic climbing/survival simulation, nothing I've ever played previously compares to Cairn. Yes, we have games with climbing and stamina mechanics such as A Short Hike and Jusa...
