Let’s Build A Zoo – PS5 Review

Developed by Springloaded and published by No More Robots, we finally have a console release of the ever-popular pixel-sim title, Let's Build A Zoo. The game is available now across all platforms. Not Just Another Zoo Sim! I would not call myself a seasoned Zoo keeper, although with the number of sims around these days I could probably collect that accolade. However, Let's Build A Zoo stands out among the many out there due to its pixelated art style. Keep reading to find out how I get on. Gameplay On jumping into the game you are asked to choose your avatar from a selection shown on the screen. Secondly, you are asked to name your first Zoo. If you are indecisive like me this might take more than it should. You are then taken on a tutorial for this park management similar. This shows ...

Gotham Knights – PS5 Review

Gotham Knights is an open-world action RPG from developer Warner Bros. Games Montréal & publisher Warner Bros. Much like the Arkham series we see these caped crusaders fighting crime across Gotham while contending with supervillains, criminals and police alike. Based on DC's Batman: Gotham Knights comic series it is a fresh take on a Batman video game with characters we know and love or love to hate. There is some controversy around the game with Batgirl's in-game bio. In this Gotham, The Killing Joke is canon including Barbara Gordon being paralysed and becoming Oracle. The in-game bio states she overcame this with hard work which has offended the non-able-bodied community. The news that Gotham Knights wouldn't be released on PS4 and Xbox One will be upsetting for gamers who haven'...

The Last Oricru – PS5 Review

Games are hard to make. Successful games are even harder to make. The amazing medium that gaming is has transitioned from one man teams where the programmer of the game made everything, to teams of devs with roles that include artists, sound designers, level designers, environment artists, animators, writers, directors and producers (to name but a few). The Last Oricru is an ambitious undertaking as the first release for developer GoldKnights. Respect the Ratvolution The Czech based studio built the game with a fairly small team for the scope of this 3rd person action RPG. Played here on PS5 the game is also available on Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Gameplay With no recollection of the past, players assume the roll of Silver who is dropped into the middle of a conflict between two fac...

Session: Skate Sim – PS5 Review

Developed by Crea-ture Studios and Illogika, Session: Skate Sim is the latest simulator title to hit consoles and PC. With a much-loved previous release, I wonder how this one will stack up. A Souls-Like Skateboarding Simulator Having never previously checked out a Session title, but being a Tony Hawks Pro Skater (THPS) fan I thought this would be a great title to check out. Keep reading to find out how I get on. Gameplay Jumping straight into the game you are greeted with an extremely brief tutorial. It provides you with a little know-how on how to get a couple of tricks down. This includes a simple ollie/nollie and a couple of grinds. Along with this you also learn how to control your board. Now, I say learn to control your board. However, after completing it multiple times I still s...

Dakar Desert Rally – PS5 Review

Colin McRae and Sebastien Loeb are names I know, not because of their rallying exploits but because of videogames. My knowledge of the Dakar Rally is not from games but because of its infamy as being one of the hardest sporting challenges around. Dakar Desert Rally aims to authentically capture the epic scale and challenge of the legendary event. Become a Dakar Desert Rally Legend! Coined as the largest open world, off-road racing game of all time by developer Saber Porto, the game is set across 20,000sq kilometres of diverse terrain. The team, based in Portugal, have previous experience with racing titles like WRC, MotoGp and its previous Dakar game, Dakar 18. Formerly known as Bigmoon, the studio was acquired by Saber Interactive in 2019 and renamed Saber Porto. Played here on PS...

Sam And Max Remastered – Playstation Review

Sam and Max Remastered reminds us of another time. The year is 2008 and Sam and Max Beyond Space and Time has just been released and published by Telltale Games. Released on multiple formats including the Playstation 3. Beyond Space and Time was the follow-up to Save The World the original Sam and Max title. It is fair to say that the duo were very popular and sales showed that at the time. We now have Sam and Max Remastered which features both the original Save The World and Beyond Space and Time. The remaster is being handled by Skunkape Games, this is a studio that was founded in 2020 when Telltale Games closed its doors. The studio was brought together by several members of the Telltale Games staff. Sweet mother of all things good and plenty Gameplay Sam is a sentient dog in...

The Gallery – PS4 Review

The Gallery is the latest FMV game from the mind of Paul Raschid. (The Complex and Five Dates) Published by Cloudhead Games and Aviary Studios. Available on PC (Steam), Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile (IOS, Android) The Same Story Twice I was really eager to get hold of The Gallery. This style of game has always interested me and, having played both The Complex and Five Dates I had to test it out for myself. Gameplay Two specific periods of Britain's history are depicted in the story, centered around a portraiture art curator. Due to the social division felt throughout the country and the challenges associated with each period, Argyle Manor's business struggles in both timelines. 1981 is the year of the UK riots, and we play the female protagonist. In 2021 we follow...

Oxide Room 104 – PS5 Review

Horror comes in all shapes and sizes, and WildSphere's Oxide Room 104 thinks bigger is not always better. This self-published title takes cues from body horror and escape rooms to combine them into this neat, but short, horror-puzzler package. Oxide Room 104 - It's an Evil F***ing Room Oxide Room 104 was released on June 16th, 2022 on all current consoles and PC. I love a good horror game as nothing has chilled me since Outlast. When I saw the trailer, it really gave me Saw (the movie) vibes and I immediately wanted to play it. So, let's open the door to Oxide Room 104 and see what's inside. Gameplay So after the intro where you, Matt, get knocked out at the gas station, you wake up in the bathtub of some dingy motel. You're naked, injured, confused and have absolutely no idea how ...
