So put on your boots, grab your rod and let's get into it! Another Idle Game?? “Hey Charlie, isn't this, like, the third idle game you are reviewing this month? Are you running all of them at the same time? Are you okay?” Yes, yes, no. But that hardly matters now 'cause we got some fish to catch alright! This is actually a game I picked up myself during the Steam Summer Sale. I really liked the game and had some time on my hands, so I thought to myself: “Eh, why not write ...

Tiny Aquarium: Social Fishkeeping – PC Review

Tiny Aquarium: Social Fishkeeping is a brand-new, chill idle game in which you get to create and take care of your very own dream aquarium. Hatch and raise fish, connect with your friends, and just enjoy the calm beauty that your little aquarium can bring. Developed by Lunheim Studios and published by Future Friends Games, the game hit the shelves on Steam on June 23rd and is currently 10% off as an introductory offer until July 7th, costing just £3.86. Don't tap the glass! As much as I like this game, it may actually be one that my cat enjoyed more than me. She just loves to sit in front of my screen and loudly scream at anything that dares to move. She is a sucker for those Cat TV videos with the birds in them, so this is just such a perfect game to keep her, and me, of course, enterta...

FBC: Firebreak – PC Review

FBC: Firebreak is a new 3-player co-op FPS by Remedy Entertainment, the same studio that brought us Control. Take a step back into the FBC's headquarters and clean up various paranormal occurrences within. It is available now on PS5, Xbox X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic, or PC Game Pass. Today I'm checking out the PC version. Contain Chaos in FBC: Firebreak Control is a very enjoyable game in my humble opinion. I definitely never spent nearly as much time as I could or wanted to spend in it, but it is one of the few games that I have completed the main story in. FBC:Firebreak is a completely different style of game though, so I was curious where the similarities bled through. What I found was an interesting mixture of genres with a whole lot of Hiss to fend off. Check out my review of the PC...

Rift of the NecroDancer: Hatsune Miku DLC – PC Review

As Thumb Culture’s resident NecroDancer fanatic—Rift gained a TC Gold Award from me!—my eyes immediately lit up at the announcement of more new music packs. Celeste and Pizza Tower tracks got the Rift treatment in previous packs, as well as some Super Meat Boy tracks and Crypt of the NecroDancer favourites for free (cue many squees from me!). Now Cadence is back to conquer even more rifts, this time with an old friend who is no stranger to NecroDancer DLC. Virtual pop star and Vocaloid legend Hatsune Miku joins the fray with 6 new tracks to sharpen your rhythm skills and bop till you drop.  Miku Miku Beam! Admittedly, despite being familiar with her, my only experience of Miku songs is through the Crypt DLC. So naturally, it stands to reason that I hear more of her virtual vocals through...

Ruffy and the Riverside – PC Review

Ruffy and the Riverside is an action, adventure game from Zockrates Laboratories UG with the publishing assistance from Phiphen Games. This game is a beautiful return to the classic collectathon genre. Games like Banjo-Kazooie and Paper Mario are huge inspirations to the game. I honestly wanted to add 'puzzle' to the list of genres for this game due to the crazy amount of puzzles in it. I didn't but, it's the puzzles definitely form a good part of its personality. You'll need a really good wheel of hay to travel these woods. Without it, it'll be one bale of a time. Th game may not be out until 26th June, but you can still Wishlist it on Steam today! Or if you want to give it a try before you buy, I recommend the demo, it's really fun! Gameplay Ruffy and the Riverside starts you out...

Have you ever thought that there may be something living inside your computer? I don't mean like, roaches or anything (though if you do suspect that there may be some in there, you should probably get that checked out). No, I mean Nanomon, of course! Nanomon are invisible monsters that live inside your computer! It was just recently that someone found a way to make them visible. Better yet? It turns out they love traveling aro...

Quantum Witch – PC Review

Metroidvania meets point-and-click meets choose-your-own-adventure in Quantum Witch, a pixel art “plot-former” by solo dev NikkiJay. The game releases today on Steam. Heavily inspired by the ZX Spectrum, Jay explores her experience of growing up in a religious sect and embracing her true self through a tale of comedy, fantasy and the far-reaching effects of choice. In her own words: “a queer emancipation story”. You play Ren, a young woman living in the perfectly idyllic realm of Hus. Life seems quiet and simple: find your lost flock, pick a pretty flower for your wife, confront and dethrone God. Wait, what?! Suddenly, you get a glimpse of a destructive and encompassing force entwined in the roots of this slightly saccharine utopia. And you’ll be damned if you’re not going to get the bo...

A Building Full Of Cats 2 – PC Review

This year, I've begun playing hidden-object games between other games as a way of relaxing and clearing my mind a bit. This was particularly needed recently after playing Blue Prince and Expedition 33 — two games that drain you mentally and emotionally respectively. It's purr-fect timing, then, that Devcats are back with a new title, A Building Full Of Cats 2. I've played a few of their games previously, on both PC and PS5, so was somewhat clued in as to what to expect from this new entry to the Full Of Cats series. Still, there were still some surprises to be found. Bursting With Purr-sonality A Building Full Of Cats 2 is Devcats biggest game yet, with over 2000+ cats to pet. While the residents of the building are away on holiday, it's up to you to check in on the cats and help with va...
