When you think of Belkin, gaming accessories probably aren’t the first products that spring to mind. My last experience with Belkin was a broadband router I had back in the early 2000s that took a hit, thanks to a lightning strike.

The company has since built a strong reputation over the years for reliable charging solutions, cables and mobile accessories, but with the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, Belkin has stepped into the gaming space with a range of officially licensed products. One of the standout offerings is the Charging Case Pro, a premium carry case that combines protection with a built-in battery pack to keep your console powered wherever your adventures take you.

Power & Protection

The idea is a simple one. Most Switch owners already carry a protective case, while many also pack a separate power bank for longer gaming sessions. Belkin’s Charging Case Pro merges those two essentials into one streamlined accessory, reducing the amount of kit you need to carry while ensuring your console is always ready for another gaming session.

After spending time using the Charging Case Pro with the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s clear that Belkin has put thought into both the design and the day-to-day user experience. While it sits at the premium end of the accessory market, does it justify the investment?

Design

Belkin has gone for a clean aesthetic that feels more premium than flashy. Finished in a charcoal grey fabric with subtle branding, the Charging Case Pro looks equally at home in a backpack, laptop bag or on your desk. It’s the sort of accessory that feels well-made from the moment you pick it up. Other available colours are pistachio green and sand.

The exterior features a rigid shell that offers reassuring protection without becoming excessively bulky. It feels robust enough to withstand the knocks and bumps of everyday travel, while the textured fabric finish gives it a quality feel that avoids looking overly “gamer”. A convenient hand strap allows you to carry the charging case around like a mini briefcase.

There is plenty of room for storage, including a hidden pocket for a tracker.

What’s Inside?

Open the zip and the attention to detail continues. The Nintendo Switch 2 fits securely inside a moulded compartment, helping to prevent movement while travelling. The interior lining is soft enough to avoid scratching the console’s display, and everything sits snugly without feeling difficult to remove.

Storage has been well considered too. A dedicated compartment provides room for a charging cable and smaller accessories, while 12 integrated game card holders make it easy to carry a healthy selection of titles without loose cartridges rattling around the case.

Juice Time

The biggest talking point is, of course, the integrated 10,000mAh battery pack. Rather than simply throwing a power bank into the case, Belkin has designed the charging system so that it feels like part of the product. A sturdy, thick plastic frame allows the Switch 2 to simply dock onto the internal USB-C plug at the bottom. The frame, which is hinged at the bottom, can then be firmly angled to support the Switch 2 up, ready for gaming. It is worth mentioning that the battery can be removed from the case and is held firmly within the case using strong magnets.

The removable battery and frame is very sturdy.

Despite housing a battery, the Charging Case Pro remains surprisingly manageable in terms of weight. It is naturally heavier than a standard carry case, but not to the extent that it becomes inconvenient. The additional heft actually reinforces the premium feel rather than making it cumbersome.

Overall build quality is exactly what you would expect from Belkin. The stitching is neat, the zip operates smoothly, and the materials throughout feel durable enough to cope with years of regular use.

Performance

Protection is only half the story, as the Charging Case Pro lives or dies by its ability to keep your Nintendo Switch 2 running when you’re out and about. Thankfully, this is where Belkin’s experience with charging technology really shines.

Using the integrated battery couldn’t be much simpler. Dock the Switch 2 onto the built-in USB-C connector, zip the case closed, and the console begins charging while safely stored away. It removes the need for carrying separate batteries or digging through your bag to find cables whenever the battery indicator starts flashing.

For anyone who regularly commutes or travels, this quickly becomes one of those features you wonder how you managed without. Instead of arriving at your destination with a depleted console, you can spend the journey topping it up while it’s safely packed away.

Power Me Up

Charging performance is dependable throughout. While it’s not designed to replace the speed of the official mains charger, it delivers enough power (30W) to significantly extend your available playtime. Whether you’re tackling lengthy RPG sessions or spending an afternoon exploring Mario Kart World, the additional battery capacity provides welcome peace of mind.

One aspect that impressed me was the overall efficiency. Charging remained consistent throughout testing, with no unexpected interruptions or connection issues. The internal dock also feels secure enough that you don’t worry about accidentally disconnecting the console while moving the case. With a dead Switch 2 battery, I managed to charge my Switch 2 completely and have around 20% left on the Belkin battery.

Heat management is equally reassuring. Even during longer charging sessions, the case remained comfortably cool, suggesting the battery management system is doing exactly what it should. That’s particularly important when you’re storing an expensive handheld console inside an enclosed case!

The built-in battery status indicators are another nice touch. A quick press on the front button lights up the % of battery remaining on the built-in screen. This lets you check how much charge remains before leaving the house, helping avoid any unwelcome surprises later in the day.

Technicalities

There are, however, a couple of trade-offs. The integrated battery inevitably increases both the size and weight of the case compared to a standard protective case. It’s by no means excessive, but those looking for the slimmest possible travel solution may notice the difference.

Similarly, the premium construction and integrated charging technology mean this isn’t the cheapest carry case available for the Nintendo Switch 2. At £69.99, budget-conscious buyers who rarely play away from home may struggle to justify the additional expense.

However, for anyone who spends a lot of time travelling or commuting, the convenience quickly outweighs those compromises.

The frame support is thick and well supports the Nintendo Switch 2 when it is docked onto the battery.

Conclusion

Belkin’s Charging Case Pro is an impressive first step into Nintendo Switch 2 accessories. Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, Belkin has focused on refining two everyday essentials, protection and portable charging, and combined them into one polished package.

Everything about the case feels thoughtfully designed, from the premium materials and secure internal layout to the integrated charging solution that quietly removes one of portable gaming’s biggest frustrations. It’s easy to use, well-built and delivers exactly what it promises without unnecessary gimmicks.

Yes, it’s a little larger than a traditional carry case, and the asking price places it firmly in the premium category. But once you factor in that you’re effectively getting both a protective case and a quality power bank in a single product, the value becomes much easier to appreciate.

For Nintendo Switch 2 owners who regularly game away from home, the Belkin Charging Case Pro is one of those accessories that simply makes sense. It protects your console, keeps your games organised and ensures you’ve got extra battery life exactly when you need it.

If portability is one of the reasons you bought a Nintendo Switch 2 in the first place, Belkin has produced an accessory that complements that philosophy beautifully.
