I've been playing games for most of my life; whether it be from playing Arkanoids with family around the Atari all trying to get high scores, entertaining my niece and nephew while babysitting playing an array of games, going round friends to play the latest split screen games, playing for my son as he grew up influencing him to become an avid gamer himself. Its in my DNA.

MAONO DM30 USB Microphone Review

The market for computer peripherals, especially video conferencing hardware is large, especially after the pandemic with many realising they would need good gear to enhance their online presence. This market was already big amongst streamers like me where we are always looking for good hardware to evolve our online content. I took the time to get a hands-on review of the MAONO DM30 USB Microphone, one which shows promise in the market at the moment, and share my thoughts. Taking your vocals to another level The chance came up to test this microphone from a brand I was unfamiliar with, but I see them being a common name in the market given time and recognition. Let us know what you look for in your PC setup in the comments. Design On unpackaging the microphone it is obvious that it's ve...

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – PC Review

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the latest offering from game developers Fatshark released on 30th November 2022. The devs have had success previously with best-selling and award-winning Vermintide. Here however you are flung into a dystopian world full of corruption and war. The game sees you take the role of a repurposed prison escapee thrown into serving the army, who are fighting off a heretical cult known as the Admonition. STOP.....HAMMER TIME! Warhammer 40,000: Darktide's main feature is teaming up with others to work together in a multiplayer co-op style of gameplay. I find myself gravitating towards this style of gameplay. I love where games feature a more co-op style of gameplay as opposed to the PVP games such as Warzone. Do you enjoy co-op games like this? If so, leave a commen...

Pentiment – PC Review

Pentiment was released on the 15th of November 2022 on Windows, Xbox, and Steam. It is a 2D adventure murder mystery from game developers Obsidian, known for their previous releases, Outer Worlds, Fallout New Vegas and more recently Grounded. It's safe to say the game strays from the game developers' usual 3D adventure games. This game has garnered a lot of attention lately and I was eager to see what the game has to offer. THE FONT OF ALL KNOWLEDGE AWAITS This game initially stood out, from all other games, due to its illustrative and novel style of graphics. Coupled with its overreaching murder mystery storyline and interesting aesthetic, I was interested to discover more. Do you enjoy a good murder mystery? Let us know your favourite game of this genre in the comments below! ...

One True Hero – PC Review

One True Hero is a quirky fantasy action/adventure game from Rat Cliff Games released on 20th October 2022. The game is available to buy with a 20% launch discount on Steam right now. I got the chance to recently journey through the world the game has to offer. After seeing the trailer boasting quirky gameplay, comic/cartoon animations and tons of humour, I felt I had to play it. DIAMONDS! EVEN MORE DIAMONDS!... OH, AND SOME ADVENTURING. Plucked from obscurity, the one true hero happens to be an everyday farmer! Chosen by mystical forces he is set on a quest to save the lands in which he lives. A common adventure game trope and the game developers know it. Regardless, I buy into that story time and time again. Do you enjoy action/adventures where the underdog gets chosen to go onto bigge...

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia – PC Review

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is an action-adventure from game developers Over the Moon released 19th October 2022 available now on Steam. This dark fantasy adventure gives a satirical spin on the Dark Souls games, especially Elden Ring, but with their own spin on the theme. THE HERO THIS RETRO WORLD NEEDS Having spent many an hour playing through (and mostly dying a lot) in Elden Ring this lighter quirkier take on the franchise seemed interesting. From the game trailers and promotional images, the game looks fun and all the right kinds of weird. If you like your less serious adventures, let us know in the comments below, and name your favourite.   Gameplay The game introduces you subtly at the start to the premise. You are the saviour... maybe not the one they counted on or asked fo...

Trombone Champ – PC Review

Trombone Champ, from Holy Wow Studios, made its way into our lives on 16th September on Steam. This quirky, random, and challenging rhythm-style game has been making waves since its release. Its meme-worthy viral content and hilarious gameplay has hit viral status on the net. I spent some time with the game recently after videos online gave me the urge to see what the game was all about. MASTER THE TROMBONE OR WILL THE TROMBONE MASTER YOU? Having been a fan of the music rhythm genre of games naturally, I'm drawn towards new games brought out like it. I knew before going in though that I was in for a unique treat with this one. Are you a fan of the button-riffing music games? Are you going to try out Trombone Champ? If so, leave us a comment below GAMEPLAY It soon became apparent th...

Metal: Hellsinger – PC Review

Metal: Hellsinger is a first-person shooter from game developers The Outsiders and published by Funcom. The game was released on 15th September 2022 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. I was pleased to see it arrive day one on Xbox's Game Pass so I grabbed myself a copy! This shoot-em-up however has a unique side to it however. It's a rhythm first-person shooter. Slice, dice, and explode demons in time with the almost tribal heavy metal music to your heart's content! MAKE A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL FOR EXPERT SKILLS? HELL YEAH! With hype building up over this game's unique playstyle I'm eager to delve into the underworld and see what it's all about. I love rhythm-type games in the past from Guitar Hero to Rockband. Plus I love the supernatural style FPS shooters like Doom. I'm excited to find ou...

The Dark Prophecy – PS5 Review

The Dark Prophecy is a 2D pixel art point-and-click adventure-type game designed to play on our fond memories of the style of games from the 80s/90s, like Kings Quest, Broken Sword, and Monkey Island, to name a few. The game has been developed by Start Warp and published by Meridian4 who both have offered up this dose of nostalgia, which was released on 28th February 2022 and is available now available to buy on Steam. Gotta foresee it to believe it I always gravitate back to point-and-click games, as they always take you back to where brainpower was key to advancing through the game, not just solely skill. Combining items and discovering items that maybe could work with something you discovered previously. It's a great feeling that revelation and, dare I say it, thrill when you make tha...
