AMD FidelityFX is an open-source collection of optimised visual technologies to make it easier for developers with high-quality effects in games from AMD. Think along the lines of Nvidia’s ray tracing, DLSS and similar technologies. Some of the FidelityFX features are:
- HDR Mapper
- Denoiser
- Screen Space Reflections
- Contrast Adaptive Sharpening
FidelityFX is now supported in over 40 games, helping those with AMD hardware to get the best out of their tech all whilst looking glorious. There’s a whole platoon of developers taking these technologies on board and bringing them to their games.
Some of those games are listed below:
- Dirt 5
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
- Anno 1800
- Evil Genius 2
- Resident Evil Village (when it releases)
- Serious Sam 4 (check out Jasons review on this here)
- Detroit: Become Human
You can read more about AMD FidelityFX on AMDs site here. This could start to be some real healthy competition for Nvidia going forward. It’s amazing to see all of these new technologies coming to PC for gamers.
