Dino Crisis 2 – Hold On To Your Butts
Another sequel enters our list of Halloween horror video games. This time it’s Capcom’s forgotten franchise Dino Crisis. While Capcom is more well known for the survival horror Resident Evil. It’s about time that the Dino Crisis series got the attention it deserves. If you are enjoying this list then why not check out the previous entry here. You can also catch up with what the rest of the Thumb Culture team are up to on our social media.
Dino Crisis 2 sees the return of Operations Raid Team Officer Regina. But this time she’s accompanied by another playable character. Dylan Morton is the rescue team leader and despite Dylan and Regina initially going their separate ways, they end up joining forces to find a way back to the present.
As you kill dinosaurs in succession, countering attacks and avoiding damage in areas, you can earn “Extinction Points” a form of in-game currency that tally up as you move between locations. You can also spend Extinction Points on new weapons, upgrades, health packs, and ammunition.
While some may say that the sequel went for more of an action-type game and shied away from the original survival horror style. There is something about Dino Crisis 2 that gives it that edge over its predecessor. Back in the day the Playstation and Capcom, in particular, did some fantastic games. With Resident Evil being the one that gets the credit. I think it’s about time this gem got the love it deserves.
