Naughty Dog has just confirmed that The Last Of Us Part 2– Remastered is coming to PlayStation 5 on January 19th 2024.

You Don’t Get To Rush This

In 2013, The Last Of Us was released, and I can’t think of an award it didn’t win. Not only for gameplay, awards for voice actors, writers, sound design, and not to mention a ton of Game of The Year Awards.

What Is The Story of The Last of Us?

The United States is hit by a mutant Cordyceps fungus outbreak in 2013, which transformed the infected humans into aggressive creatures. In Austin, Texas, Joel, along with his brother Tommy and daughter Sarah, tries to escape the chaos. However, during their escape, a soldier shoots Sarah, causing her death in Joel’s arms.

After twenty years, the infection has destroyed civilization. Joel and his partner, Tess, are smugglers in a quarantine zone in Boston, Massachusetts. They track down Robert, a black-market dealer, to recover a stolen weapons cache. Before Tess can kill him, Robert reveals that he traded the cache with the Fireflies, a rebel militia that opposes the quarantine zone authorities. The Fireflies’ leader, Marlene, promises to double their cache in exchange for smuggling a teenage girl, Ellie, to Fireflies hiding in the Massachusetts State House.

New Content

No Return

The Last of Us Part 2 has introduced a new game mode called “No Return”. It is a roguelike survival mode that challenges players to face randomized encounters and freshly experience the game’s combat. The mode offers a range of playable characters, some appearing for the first time in The Last of Us franchise. Each character comes with unique traits to cater to different playstyles. Players choose between stealth and combat encounters, facing different enemies.. The encounters come with unique twists that can add new, unexpected factors to the gameplay.

Choose rewards, customize your character, and more after each encounter. As you progress, you can unlock additional characters, skins, and other items to use in the game mode. You can personalize your runs and participate in a global leaderboard as part of a Daily Run competition.

Guitar Free Play Mode

In Guitar Free Play mode, unlock instruments, and use audio FX pedals to modify your performance. Playing as various characters in different in-game locations to create a unique mood.

New outfits, director’s commentary, and lost levels addition included.. Speedrun mode makes its return after appearing in Part One.

Upgrade Path –

Complaints arose over having to buy a new console at full price for the third time to play The Last of Us Part One.. Unlike some other titles there was no upgrade from a prior version. Owners of The Last Of Us 2 can upgrade to the PS5 version for £10 / $10. There will also be the ability to copy your save game across.
