0 As part of the ID@Xbox Twitch showcase, developers Over The Moon and publishers Coatsink revealed that they’re launching The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia in 2022.
The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia – The Souls-Like You Didn’t Ask For!
Described as a satirical action/adventure Souls-like, The Last Hero Of Nostalgaia pays homage to Dark Souls with a dark but hilarious story. Players will be able to enjoy the ‘hard but fair’ combat that fans of the genre love so much. Fighting your way through an incredibly rich but complex world, it’s up to you to save the world of video games from collapse! Oh, and you’re hideously pixelated and the game’s narrator seems to loathe you. No problem.
The game is due for release in 2022 on Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One and Steam. There will be an optimized version for Xbox Series S|X.
An Ode to Souls
Over The Moon CEO Jon Warner had this to say about the upcoming game:
The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is our love letter to Dark Souls and its community of players. We saw a lot of subtle beauty in that series and wanted to honor it, by pulling it forward and integrating it with gameplay. The result is a game with deep roots in the genre, but that also somehow manages to be entirely new. I can’t wait to share it with all of you.
