Aces & Adventures – PC Review

Aces & Adventures is the latest release from  Yogscast Games (Golfie) alongside indie publisher Triple B Games. The game is a deckbuilding fantasy RPG where combat is powered by poker. Luckily for me, you only need to know the main combinations of hands available. The closest comparison I've played is Slay the Spire but Aces & Adventures definitely is making its mark on the deckbuilding genre. Aces & Adventures is available now on Windows PC. Aces & Adventures up's the ante in this high-stakes fantasy game I was excited to play Aces & Adventures as I'm a fan of the genre and Yogscast Games. If you're enjoying the game or excited to please leave a comment below about what you think. Gameplay Aces & Adventures takes place in Cardrasil, a fantasy land home t...

Hotel Renovator – PC Review

I am so happy to be talking about Hotel Renovator, one of the many games soon to be released by the development team at Two Horizon and published by Focus Entertainment. This game is to be released today (March 7th 2023) on Steam for £20.99 with other entries lined up such as Aqua Park Renovator and Camp Builder coming sometime in the future. Hotel Restoration, Lawsuits not included I have had this game on my wish list for a while now, being a simulator games lover. Mainly ones based on occupations like House Flipper, or Gas Station Simulator. When I saw that I could renovate and manage my very own hotel I was happy to see what I can create with the tools, furniture, and colour palettes I would be able to use in this game. Gameplay The premise of the story is you inherit an old run-dow...

Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator – PC Review

From developer Cyanide Studio (Styx: Master of Shadows) and publisher Nacon (Steel Rising) is Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator. Much like the title suggests, Chef Life is a third-person management sim like Two Point Campus. Out of the frying pan and into the fire, you begin with all the responsibilities of the manager and head chef of a new restaurant. Thanks to your partner Kassim and several other NPCs hopefully you rise and earn that first Michelin star. Chef Life is available now on PC as well as Switch, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Can you stand the heat in Chef Life or should you get out of the kitchen? Gordon Ramsay, I am not but I had a very good time playing Chef Life. I only wish actual cooking was as easy. I'd love to hear what you think of the game so comment below. G...

Road 96: Mile 0 – PC Preview

I got to check out an exclusive preview of Road 96 Mile 0, a story-rich narrative-driven game, which serves as a prequel to the 2016 game Road 96 and is developed by Digixart, who also published the game with help from Ravenscourt. They are also known for their other title 11-11 Memories Retold which was also received well back in 2018. You can pick up Road 96 Mile 0 when it releases 4th April 2023 on Steam, Playstation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s not about the destination, but the journey  I have never played Road 96, so when I saw that this was a prequel I was happy to check it out and see why my friends fell in love. Road 96: Mile 0 seemed like the best way and so here we are ready to see the highs and lows of our dual protagonists on their journey of self-discovery. Gameplay In Roa...

Goblins of Elderstone – PC Preview

Built using Unreal Engine 4 by Lost Goblin and Outerdawn Limited, Goblins of Elderstone is a city-building strategy game with a chaotic twist. Though it was released all the way back in January 2018, the game is still in early access. Shape The Future Of Your Goblins As the game is still in early access, this means the game still contains bugs, unbalanced mechanics and occasionally strange behaviour. With a modest 6/10 average score review on Steam, let's take a look and see what the devs have been up to for the last few years. Getting Started At it's core, Goblins of Elderstone is a city-building strategy game where you shape the future of your Goblins. Using your cunning, wits and smarts you must decide what your goals, morals and limitations are. We begin our journey with a backstor...

The Art of War: Card Game – PC Preview

The Art of War: Card Game is the newest release from publisher and developer Brightdawn Entertainment (A Walk in the Woods VR). It is a non-collectable deck builder card game set in a fantasy world with Game of thrones style machinations. I immediately felt the similarities to Gwent: The Witcher Card Game so I wasn't surprised when Brightdawn cited Gwent as inspiration. As well as bringing what they felt the genre was missing and a social game like Gwent, Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh! The Art of War is available now on PC but still in early access. There is also the upcoming tabletop version later in 2023. Sun Tzu who? There's a new The Art of War in town I'd love to hear what anyone of you think of The Art of War: Card Game so feel free to comment below. Gameplay The Art of Wa...

Sport & Fun: Swimming – Switch Review

Published by Red Deer Games Sport & Fun: Swimming is one of the latest family fun fitness titles to hit the Nintendo Switch eShop. Released on the 3rd of February and is currently on sale at a massive 90% at the time of writing this article. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming! So join me as I jump into the swim lanes to see if Sport & Fun: Swimming sinks or swims. Let's hope it is the latter. Gameplay I honestly had no idea what to expect when it came to Sport & Fun: Swimming. It was safe to say I was going in blind. I had not seen anything surrounding this title, whether that be via email campaigns or by the press sites. I have no idea if this is because I didn't go looking for it, or because it just hasn't been talked about. Sport & Fun: Swimming is an easy...

Ten Dates – PS5 Review

FMV style console game hits are few and far between these days. When I played the excellent thriller Erica on PS4 back in 2019 I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality interactive story telling. Ten Dates is a romantic comedy interactive game from award winning indie studio Wales Interactive. The team have established themselves as one of the champions for the revival of the FMV genre with their aim to further blur the lines between film and games as they evolve the medium. Ten Dates to find love Played here on PS5 the game is also available on PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Epic Games, Mac, iOS and Android. Gameplay Set in London, you play as either of two best friends Mischa and Ryan. Duped into going out for a drink under false pretences, Ryan quickly fin...
