Nacon is widely known for its extensive range of peripherals from mice to chairs, there is something for everyone. They are now getting involved in mobile gaming and have released the Nacon MG-X and the Nacon MG-X Pro. The team over at Nacon kindly sent over the Nacon MG-X Pro for us to get some hands-on time and take our mobile gaming experience to the next level.

Making Mobile Gaming More Comfortable

For me, Mobile gaming has always felt like an inconvenience. So when we got the chance to work with Nacon and their mobile gaming peripherals, this was a no brainer. But just how much does this “up” my mobile gaming experience? Keep reading to find out more.

Design

I should start by saying that the team at Nacon sent us over the Nacon MG-X Pro For Xbox. This version comes in black, whereas the For Android version comes in dark blue. Both chassis on these versions look exactly the same and both look great. The changes become apparent when you start looking at the finer details such as the buttons. You can see that the Nacon MG-X Pro For Xbox has the same button set including the Xbox logo for the home button.

Lets go mobile!

Designed with the Xbox gamers in mind, the joysticks are asymmetric and come with the standard Xbox button configuration (X,Y,A,B). When in hand with my phone installed, I don’t feel too worried about any mishaps. The design of the controller holds devices extremely well and feels sturdy whilst gaming.

Specification

Let us delve into the tech, firstly connectivity is wireless. This is a major must-have for me when it comes to mobile gaming. nothing worse than having an awkward connection on the controller. This can also sometimes means certain devices aren’t compatible. ~The Nacon MG-X Pro has Bluetooth 4.2 and connects with your mobile device quickly and easily.

The Nacon MG-X Pro has a battery life of up to 20 hours, however, this is depending on the title you are playing. Obviously, the more demanding titles will require more power. However, if you then take that down by 50% that is still 10 hours of gaming on the go.

The Nacon MG-X Pro is compatible with most smartphones with Android 6 or later with a maximum screen length of 152.4mm. Most phones will fall into this, however, please do check before you make a jump for one. Designed for Xbox Game Pass, this will be the ultimate companion for anyone who is looking to move to mobile gaming now COVID restrictions have eased. Obviously, as more offices open, more trips on public transport.

Comfort

With a design extremely reminiscent of the Xbox Series X|S controller, you feel at home when you pick it up. It is recognisable as soon as you pick it up. This made gaming on the go so much easier for me. So many controllers either don’t have enough button space or enough of a grip to have a comfortable hold. The Nacon MG-X Pro provided both of the above.

Taking mobile gaming to the next level!

The Nacon MG-X Pro has a textured coating and a fantastic design for grip. This means that gamers with hands of all sizes will for the most part find it an extremely comfortable experience for mobile gaming/gaming on the go. Making those long trips on public transport much more enjoyable.

Final Thoughts

For me, the Nacon MG-X Pro made gaming on the go a lot more comfortable, with its winged design ultimately you are bringing your Xbox home comfort on the road with you. I used to find gaming with my mobile clunky, ultimately making me either watch Youtube or put my phone away. Safe to say, my mobile gaming experience just got a whole lot better. I, therefore, award the Nacon MG-X Pro with a Thumb Culture Gold Award
