Crytek has announced that they will be bringing a remastered version of Crysis to the table. This classic first-person shooter will feature remastered graphics (obviously) and optimisations for the new generation of hardware co-developed on Cryengine. Crysis will be available on PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.
“We are excited to be working on the Crysis franchise again, and to bring all the Crysis fans a remaster worthy of their passion for the game,” said Crytek CEO Avni Yerli. “It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to bring Crysis back to PCs and current consoles – even Nintendo Switch! – so that a whole new generation of players can experience the thrill of a battle in the Nanosuit.”
Crytek has confirmed that is will be focusing on the original game’s single-player campaign. Rumours are that it will have a vast amount of improved assets and textures. Ultimately, this will bring the remastered version to life and for those who were fans of the original will be able to re-run the game again but in its newfound glory. Further additions such as fog, lighting and reflections will also enhance the visuals.
The question is did you play the original and will you be pre-ordering the remastered version? Let us know in the comments below.
