As of yesterday (22nd April 2020) a free update is available for Super Mario Maker 2 on the Nintendo Switch and will add the new World Maker Mode.

In World Maker mode, multiple courses created by a user can be tied together on a path from the starting point on a world map to the end castle. The look of the world map can also be customised. Up to eight worlds containing a total of up to 40 courses can be combined.

We would also like to welcome The Koopalings as they come to Super Mario Maker 2. All seven of these critters are making an appearance, with each one having their own movent pattern. All of these can be added to the user-created courses along with the new Phanto’s and wind-up Mechakoopas.

The Koopalings!

And There Is More!

As a part of this update, additional power-ups and course parts will also be available. This includes the Super Mario Bros 2 Mushroom, which transforms your characters into their look from the SMB2 game. Not only does it change their look it also allows you to throw your enemies! We will also be seeing the Frog Suit from SMB3, the Power Balloon from Super Mario World, and the Super Acorn from SMB.U. So we are seeing some epic content and nostalgia!

Its’a me!

Check out the update video below for a further look into the new content available.

So what are you waiting for, head to the store for the latest update and get creative! Thanks for reading.
