Wrestling fans will have just enjoyed SummerSlam, but what better way to celebrate than to play the latest 2K Games wrestler? WWE 2K25 Switch 2 edition hit the shelves at the end of July, a good couple of months after it first burst onto the screens on other platforms.
If you want to check out more details on the game, then I’d recommend reading through my PlayStation review here. That article will give you the lowdown on all the game modes available in this year’s iteration.
This article will focus on whether or not the Switch 2 version is worth getting. So without further ado, let’s get to it.
Time For The Final Boss
Whether you are going to play this in handheld or docked, I can tell you now that you are in for a treat.
Gameplay
All the same game modes are in the WWE 2K25 Switch 2 Edition, which is great because there was such a comprehensive bank of options here. I spent some time playing through each of the game modes, but my favourite was the MyRise mode. Taking you through an intricate storyline with highs and lows, match up to match up.

It features all the same wrestlers and all the same DLC available on the other formats. You really are not compromised at all when it comes to the gaming experience. The graphics are a different matter, but I’ll cover that in the later sections.
So there isn’t really much else to say on the gameplay section, just get stuck in and dive into whichever game mode you want. With the same experience on the small screen as the bigger screens, you won’t regret your purchase.
Graphics & Audio
Now, this is where WWE 2K25 Switch 2 differs from its bigger cousins on other platforms. It goes without saying that the PlayStation version is visually more appealing. That doesn’t mean, however, that the Switch 2 version is ugly. Far from it. Running at a solid 60fps, you get butter-smooth action sequences, even when there is a high number of wrestlers on the screen.

If you plan on playing this in the handheld version, you will probably miss some of the most glaring differences; however, they become more noticeable when played in docked mode. Textures aren’t quite as refined, but you can forgive that due to the Switch 2 having less power than the bigger PlayStation or Xbox consoles.
Needless to say, if you are getting WWE 2K25 Switch 2, then you are probably looking to play this on the go and are going to accept the lower resolution.
The audio is identical to the PlayStation version, with all the intro music beautifully running through the Switch 2’s speakers.

Longevity
Another comparative section, the longevity of the game will depend on two things. How much time you want to put into the game, as well as how long 2K Games will support it. Personally, this is a game that I keep going back to, doing the next chapter of MyRise, or even just putting together some fantasy line-ups. It all just adds up to such an enjoyable experience that you really will love.
Final Thoughts
With the big machines taking to the small screen, you are in for a treat. WWE 2K25 Switch 2 Edition plays incredibly, and that alone is a feat of engineering. Add to it the comparative options and modes, you’re getting a great version of the game. Now, whether £60 is a bit too steep for you to pay, that is a decision for you to make.
