Logitech is pushing design and innovation and has crept to the forefront of high-end gaming peripherals. The G502 series was their previous release. We have now been blessed with their G502 X range.

The Lightforce Awakens

I personally love the G502 series mouse, its ergonomic shapes along with the build materials make it (for me) one of the best peripherals on the market. Join me as I check out the X range to see what it can offer.

Design

The Logitech G502 X Series mouse comes in two different colourways. Those who prefer a darker stealthier build can opt for the Black version. For gamers who prefer a brighter-looking build, then you have the colourway that we are looking at today which is quite simply White. Having said that the White version does have grey/silver accents which add finishing touches to the look of the mouse.

The mouse itself is extremely light compared to the G502 Lightspeed from the previous generation. With no ability to add extra weights, this does make the slightly more expensive versions more appealing to me. Having said that, the mouse that a gamer uses is entirely down to preference. Some prefer a lighter mouse, if so and you are in the market for a wired mouse then this might be the one for you. In terms of size, it is 131.4mm x 41.1mm x 79.2mm (HxWxD), so it is a great size for most. Although because of its ergonomic shape, it is aimed at right-handed use.

Just Keep Scrolling, Scrolling, Scrolling

With 9 mappable buttons on the mouse and a scroll wheel, there is plenty of space to ensure you have what you need at your fingertips. To the side, There is an adjustable DPI shift button which moves for comfort or can be removed. For any users of the older 502 series this one also includes the dual mode scroll button.

A Closer Look

When it comes to mice you need to have one that suits your gameplay style. After all, it is an integral part of the kit. You need to be thinking about sensors, switch types, feet and more. The Logitech G502 X has a HERO 25K sensor which boasts performance that thrashes that of its competitors. Safe to say this is true, the tracking on this mouse is insane.

Logitech has also heavily invested time into design and this mouse series has the LIGHTFORCE Hybrid Optical-Mechanical switches. These provide ultimate precision and provide satisfying click feedback.

Final Thoughts

Without a doubt, the Logitech G502 X mouse is the most comfortable mouse I have literally got my hands on. Extremely ergonomic without being overloaded with buttons. However, there are only a couple of reasons this particular mouse didn’t reach the highest award. Firstly, the mouse is wired and secondly, I prefer a mouse that has slightly more weight to it than this provides. Having said that this is the lowest model in the g502 X range. The other mice in the range actually do offer what this mouse is missing. I award the Logitech G502 X mouse a Thumb Culture Gold Award.
