Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Go For Gold On June 22

SEGA of America has announced that Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will launch on June 22 for basically every mainstream platform out there. The game will come to Xbox One, Steam, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in less than a months time.

As soon as I see an Olympics or athletics game, I am immediately taken back to my youth when I used to play International Track and Field on the PlayStation with my friends and family. What a great game that really was. I wonder if Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 can give people similar memories?

IRVINE, Calif. – May 26, 2021 – In celebration of the upcoming Olympic Games this summer, SEGA of America announced today that Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game™ will launch worldwide on June 22, 2021 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, STEAM for PC and Google Stadia.
Featuring 18 fun-fueled Olympic events, a robust Avatar Creator, and local and online play for up to 8 players, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 offers aspiring Olympians of all ages a chance to pursue their own Olympic dreams at-home or online.

More than 100 different colourful wardrobe options are available to choose from, from traditional country kits to more imaginative outfits like pirate and astronaut costumes. 8-player multiplayer, Ranked Games, and global leaderboards offer plenty of options for aspiring Olympians to compete online together in their quest for gold.

There’s a surprising amount of events to take part in this game. The only thing that disappoints me a little is the javelin isn’t part of the list.
