Kiwi Design is widely known in the VR Industry for its third party compatible accessories for most VR Hardware. Since the release of the Quest 2 they have really focused on what the user base would be wanting to enhance their VR experience. Today we are taking a look at the Kiwi Design Quest 2 Elite Strap that the team kindly sent over to us to check out.

Add A Little Memory Foam To Your Experience

Having used the standard and the Oculus/Meta Elite Strap I was excited to see how the Kiwi Design Compatible elite strap compared. So let’s jump in and see what the Kiwi Design Quest 2 Elite Strap has to offer.

Design

Firstly let’s talk about the colour of Elite Strap, you will all be pleased to know that is the same colour as the Quest 2 headset. Meaning it is a perfect match and doesn’t look out of place. On the back of the headset, you have the dial for amending the size of the strap along with easily detachable head support in black.

Extremely Well Designed

To the side, you have two hinges that make the headset adjustable and easily removable just in case you have to take that swift jump back into IRL. Overall the headset feels extremely robust and very well designed.

Comfort & Features

To start off with the Kiwi Design Quest 2 Elite Strap is compatible with some official Quest products, e.g. this strap fits perfectly in the official case. However, it doesn’t stop there. For VR gamers who find the official headset slightly snug this one fits heads up to 29.5 inches. With slightly wider than standard the straps on this Kiwi Design headset set you up for ultimate comfort. The one thing I do love about this headset is the fact that it has a 52-degree built-in adjustable hinge. This means that when you are heavily into a game in VR but you need to quickly switch out, you can easily flip up the front of the unit to see.

Highly Compatible With Your Existing Quest 2 Case

Comfort is obviously a huge topic of conversation when it comes to VR. After all, it is sitting on your head for the duration, you want something robust, comfortable, and something that feels like it’s going to stay put. The one thing that really stands out to me on the Kiwi Design Quest 2 Elite Strap is the head cushioning. The 3 layer pads offer support and comfort without getting too hot. As it is PU Leather sometimes things can get a little sweaty but the materials used, make it feel breathable. The build also adds to this as well, as it isn’t too chunky. Not only that it isn’t too heavy, ensuring it sits nicely on your head with little movement or pressure.

Final Thoughts

Kiwi Design always delivers quality and in this case (or should I say strap) they have definitely hit the mark again. Everything from the build quality to the features of the strap really takes your VR experience up a notch. Not only is the design work great, but with the Kiwi Design Quest 2 Elite Strap creates a sturdy base for your VR unit. Meaning when you are moving around turning from side to side, your Quest 2 feels extremely secure. I award the Kiwi Design Quest 2 Elite Strap a Thumb Culture Gold Award.
