Graphics cards have been the talk of the town for the past couple of years due to the rising prices and their unavailability. The team at Zotac, widely known in the industry for their high-quality graphic cards reached out and asked if we wanted to take some for a test drive for comparison.

Just How Powerful Do You Need To Go?

Now that graphics cards are becoming more readily available, just how much GPU power do you need? Join me as I check out Zotac’s higher-end GPU offering with a 3070ti, 3080ti and the powerhouse 3090.

Specification

Zotac offers a range of cards for each 30xx/30xxti series, for this article I checked out the 3070Ti AMP Extreme Holo, RTX 3080Ti AMP Extreme Holo and the RTX 3090 AMP Extreme Holo. Firstly lets take a look at what each of the GPU’s are side by side

By now I don’t think any of the above come in any shock. The current generation of graphics cards all pack quite some punch, long gone are the low-end 2GB cards. This generation brings more power and accessibility as even the lower-end cards (not listed above) will still run just about any game on the market today.

Benchmark

When it comes to benchmarking components for PC’s there is an abundance of software available, each one of them offering a different experience and a different depth. For this comparison, I used Uningine, specifically Heaven and SuperPosition. First off lets take a look at the outputs from Heaven, as seen in the below picture.

Benchmarked with AMD Ryzen 7 2700x on Ultra with Extreme Tessellation – 2560×1440

As you can see the midrange card actually benchmarked the lowest when compared with the others. All of the same hardware was used for this benchmark and it was completed in the same environment. With the RTX 3070Ti AMP Extreme Holo benchmarking in second place and the RTX 3090 AMP Extreme Holo obviously taking the top spot. So now let us check out what the SuperPosition benchmarking came in at. At this stage, the question is – Will the RTX 3070Ti AMP Extreme Holo stay at the bottom of the list?

Benchmarked with AMD Ryzen 7 2700x – 2560×1440

As you can see, the graphics cards have now benchmarked in the order that you would imagine with the RTX 3070Ti AMP Extreme Holo coming last and the RTX 3090 AMP Extreme Holo at the front of the pack. When benchmarking GPUs in the past we have always seen more accurate results via SuperPosition and are usually more in line with the specification and expected performance.

Final Thoughts

Having tested all of the graphics cards, obviously, the RTX 3090 AMP Extreme Holo is my favourite. You can play absolutely anything on it, however, that doesn’t mean that it’s value for money. For me, the RTX 3070Ti AMP Extreme Holo comes in as the best value in terms of performance power vs monetary value. Yes, it is great having a powerhouse of a machine, but realistically unless you are using it for other reasons such as video editing you probably won’t use what the high-end cards have on offer.

I do wonder where the 40xx series cards will go after this, and what exactly will we see. The 30xx series already provides enough power for a fantastic gaming experience.
